Chapter 13 - The Radioactive Contaminated Goblins

"This cave has been contaminated by radiation. It's extremely dangerous to go inside without protection," said Rein.

Enatur snapped his fingers, and a cube-shaped protective chamber slowly formed. Then they entered the cave.

"Good thing I detected it quickly," said Rein.

"True, I almost got exposed," said Enatur.

Shadow's eyes glanced at Enatur. "Why is that? Aren't you a god too?"

"Even though I'm a novice god, my power isn't strong enough yet to be immune to radioactive exposure," replied Enatur.

They were in the deepest part, standing at the edge of a cliff, their gazes sharpening downward. Hundreds of radioactive exposed goblins moved like zombies in the cold valley, clearly visible from where they were watching.

Shadow clapped his hands. "Enatur, look… there's a huge goblin, probably about 6 meters tall."

"Its weapon looks like a baseball bat, bigger than its body. That must be a Hobgoblin. Its weapon is quite powerful," said Enatur.

The Hobgoblin staggered, its wounds oozing pulsating pus. Soon, the Hobgoblin vomited a yellowish liquid. The liquid smoked, like molten lava.

"This is serious, Master, Shadow. Its weapon is made of uranium!"

Enatur looked at the bat held by the hobgoblin. A green, glittering mineral crystal shaped like a bat. "Is that uranium?"

"If that monster uses its weapon and strikes the ground, the potential for radioactive contamination will spread and mingle with the air," said Rein.

Enatur's eyes narrowed. "That means we must not make contact with this hobgoblin."

"Do you have a solution to handle this?" Shadow asked.

"Tungsten steel is highly effective as a radiation shield. Just make armor out of it," Rein said.

Enatur was stunned. "Oh, really? I've tried that before! Shadow, put on that mask."

Shadow shifted into Weredog mode and put on his mask. Enatur formed Nano Tungsten onto Shadow's body. The Nano Tungsten spread throughout his entire body.

A futuristic, dark gray armor had formed. Shadow moved his body, doing a little warm-up.

Shadow was amazed by the armor that had been created. "Is this Nano Tungsten?"

Enatur nodded. "Isn't it amazing?"

"Hm, the armor doesn't restrict my movement, even though it's a bit heavy," Shadow replied.

Enatur spread the Nano Tungsten throughout his body once more. It looked like a cyborg suit. Enatur opened a dimensional portal and retrieved the armor helmet crafted by Rein. The mask was fitted over his face.

The Nano Tungsten moved, fusing with the armor helmet. The eye sections glowed red. Enatur looked at his hands and clenched his fists.

"Amazing, truly versatile power. "Thank you, sis Earth!"

"Are you ready, Shadow?"

"Why even ask... haha!"

Enatur turned to Rein. "Rein, wait here; this space will keep you safe." The space slowly formed into a cube.

"Fight on, Master!"

They leaped down and landed in the valley. Their landing cracked the ground beneath them. The goblins sensed their presence, raised their weapons, and charged toward them.

Enatur pulled a minigun from his storage space and opened fire on the swarm of small goblins rushing toward him.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtttttttttttt!

Hundreds of bullets riddled the small goblins. Blood sprayed through the air. Many goblin corpses lay scattered.

Shadow moved at high speed toward the Hobgoblin.

"Icy Claw!" Ice particles formed blade-like edges along his fingers, long and sharp.

With a swipe of his claws, he severed the Hobgoblin's hand into small pieces. The Hobgoblin's weapon flew through the air.

Enatur opened a dimensional portal toward where the Hobgoblin's weapon had been flung, and the weapon vanished into the portal.

"Icy Glacier!" Shadow formed ice particles on the hobgoblin, creating a small ice mountain.

From the lower body up to the waist, it was frozen solid; the hobgoblin's movements were locked in place.

"Icy Hammer!" Shadow formed a massive hammer; he leaped high into the air, raising the Icy Hammer overhead.

As Shadow closed in on the hobgoblin, he swung the Icy Hammer at the hobgoblin's head.

The Icy Hammer struck the hobgoblin's head with a thunderous blow, shattering its skull, popping its eyes out of their sockets, and crushing its spine.

Blood mixed with flesh splattered onto the cave walls and the cave floor.

The cave floor turned into a sea of blood.

"Yay... you did it, Shadow!" Enatur shouted. He was overjoyed.

Shadow smirked arrogantly. "Huh... of course!" Enatur ran toward Shadow.

Clap!

Enatur jumped and high-fived Shadow.

"Now we can see where the uranium is. I'll take it all and cast this cave into the infinite void," Enatur said.

Enatur revealed his greedy nature with sparkling eyes.

Shadow nodded. "Hm, it would be extremely dangerous if this radiation were to spread!" Shadow replied.

Rein's camera eyes were fixed on the strange wall shaped like a door. Her camera eyes shifted focus; her vision detected body heat from behind the strange wall.

"Master, there's a secret room behind the wall. I'm detecting movement from behind it!"

Enatur and Shadow grew alert. Suddenly, the ground shook, and heavy footsteps were heard. The wall in front of them collapsed.

"Master, the radiation exposure has reached level 7. Major disaster level!"

From within the collapsed wall emerged a monstrous figure, its legs stepping out.

Steam poured from its mouth, and its body swelled. It emitted a green glow from within.

Enatur's eyes widened. "The Goblin King?!" Enatur narrowed his eyes. "But there's something strange about this creature!"

"Master, the source of the radiation is that monster. But for some reason, it managed to survive and mutate," said Rein.

A 15-meter-tall goblin, its body massive and muscular. In its hand, it clutched a massive sword. Disgusting yet terrifying.

The Goblin King charged toward them and swung his massive sword. They leaped into the air.

"Icy Lance!" While in midair, Shadow formed ice particles into dozens of spears. The spears hurtled toward the Goblin King at high speed.

Stab! Stab! Stab! Stab! Stab! Stab!

The Goblin King groaned, his body riddled with 22 wounds from the ice spears.

However, the ice spears were absorbed into the Goblin King's body, and the wounds from the spear thrusts slowly healed.

Shadow landed behind him. The Goblin King stood between Enatur and Shadow.

"Shadow, keep your distance from him—his attacks are incredibly powerful and heavy!"

"Yeah, I know that. I need the right momentum to strike him!"

Enatur ran to the side, diverting the Goblin King's attention to him. Enatur's eyes met Shadow's.

Shadow ran in a circle, positioning himself to stay behind the Goblin King.

Then Enatur opened his storage space and took out an M4A1 rifle. Enatur aimed and fired at the location of the Goblin King's heart.

Goblin King's body was already riddled with bullet holes, but his wounds healed quickly.

Tch!

The Goblin King raised his sword overhead and swung it down rapidly toward Enatur.

He jumps up, stores the M4A1 rifle back in his storage space, and pulls out an RPG.

Enatur landed rather roughly and rolled.

He opened two dimensional spaces on either side of the Goblin King; from within the dimensional spaces, dagger chains shot out and bound both of his legs, immobilizing him.

Enatur slung the RPG over his shoulder, aiming at the heart. Once locked on, Enatur fired the rocket.

Bang!

His chest exploded, his heart now exposed. "Shadow... Now!"

"Icy Large Spear!"

Shadow created a massive ice spear and sprinted toward the Goblin King.

He leaped level with the Goblin King's chest, hurled the massive ice spear toward the heart, and pierced it right through.

ROAAARRRR!

The Goblin King groaned in pain until the veins in his neck bulged, and continued to thrash about. He kept swinging his sword wildly.

Blood continued to spurt from the Goblin King's chest.

Enatur stored the RPG in his storage space and took out a grenade, pulled the pin, and aimed his throw.

He threw the grenade directly at the stab wound from the ice spear. The grenade landed right inside the wound.

BOOM!

Goblin King's chest exploded violently, shattering his upper body and leaving only his lower abdomen and legs intact.

Their shoulders rose and fell rapidly, their chests heaving.

"The enemy is tough because of its regeneration abilities. So fighting it is a bit of a letdown," Enatur said, his tone sharp.

Enatur's gaze fixed on the secret door.

Rein approached them. "Master and Shadow's teamwork was incredible!"

"Haha… thanks, Rein!"

Rein's camera eyes looked toward the hole in the door. "There must be a lot of uranium in there."

"Let's go there!" Said Enatur.

They walked toward the hole in the wall. Once inside, they were stunned. Uranium ore was scattered throughout the space, emitting a faint green glow.

"Amazing—so this is uranium. The primary material for making nuclear weapons."

Enatur opened the storage space, took all the uranium without leaving any behind, and stored it.

Rein interrupted. "Master, don't put all that uranium in the storage space. The other items you store there will get contaminated."

"Ah, I know that. This storage space is different from the ones I usually use. Let's just call it a special storage space."

They walked out of the secret room. Enatur formed a cube-shaped space and quarantined the room filled with uranium.

"Phew... finally done!" Enatur let out a long breath.

"Master is truly amazing." Rein praised him.

"Thanks, Rein. Alright, let's get out of this cave."

Then they walked out, leaving the cave behind.

"Haha… at least we've indirectly saved this world." Shadow said.

---

Outside the cave, they stood atop a cliff. Enatur formed a space; slowly, the space took the shape of a cube, enclosing the entire cave within it. Sealing the cave.

Enatur raised his hand, causing the vast space to rise along with it. Shadow watched in surprise.

Enatur opened a massive dimensional portal, large enough to swallow the entire cave inside the cube.

The cave structure entered the dimensional portal, heading toward an infinite void.

Rein opened the holographic screen. "Radioactive particle exposure is 0! Thank goodness we arrived here just in time."

Enatur formed a space; they were inside a space that slowly took the shape of a cube. The space caused their bodies to emit light, and they felt a sense of coolness.

Slowly, the light dimmed.

Once it was safe enough, Enatur removed his tungsten armor. "This way, there are no traces of radiation exposure left on our bodies."

Shadow lifted his head. "Oh, I see. This space serves to eliminate radioactive particles."

"Hm, that's right. Let's head back to the camp." Enatur sat on Shadow's back, heading toward their camp.

Shadow glanced left and right. "By the way, which way were we heading earlier?"

"Huh? Don't tell me you forgot the route?" Enatur shook Shadow's neck.

The corner of his eye glanced at Enatur. Shadow puckered his lower lip; he nodded.

The wind blew past Enatur's ears. As if whispering that something dangerous was coming.

Shadow noticed something strange about Enatur. "What's—"

Enatur pressed his index finger to Shadow's lips. "Shhh..."

Silence.

His eyes scanned the surroundings. A dimensional crack opened. Someone stepped out of the crack.

His hair was red, as were his eyes—just like Enatur's. His eyebrows were maroon.

A grown man dressed in the style of a fantasy dynasty, deep red with gold patterns.

His gaze immediately fixed on Enatur. "Pleased to meet you, Young Master. My name is Zack Vermillion."

"I am an envoy from the Vermillion Empire, here to escort you before the emperor." His red eyes flashed.

Enatur narrowed his eyes. "I'm not interested. If you need to pee, does the toilet come to you, or do you go to the toilet? You need to know who needs it, and who doesn't!"

Zack let out a long sigh. "I thought you were an obedient child!"

Zack continued, grinning at Enatur. "Alright, I have no choice. I'll take you by force!"
