Chapter 18 - Critical Phase

Death hurried toward the location where the White Mask Girl was standing.

Death flew toward the beach and saw someone in a black cloak standing on the shore. Death landed softly.

Now they stood face to face, exchanging glances.

"I knew it—you and him could sense my presence." Said White Mask Girl.

Death folded her arms. "No long-winded explanations, just get to the point!"

"Sigh... so impatient!"

"As I said before, the two of you must develop your relationship, build chemistry, and get to know one another." Said White Mask Girl.

Death narrowed her eyes. "Is your goal simply to force me into a relationship with Enatur?"

"Exactly! Because in the future, he will become the greatest power. As long as you help him break free from the Soul Core's curse and train him to become stronger!" Said White Mask Girl.

The White Mask Girl's tone grew firmer. "Enatur and Death, you two are the key to saving the future!"

The two of them stared at each other in silence.

Death softened her tone. "The future..." She furrowed her brows. "What exactly happened?"

"Total extinction—the divine civilization, the human civilization, and the civilizations of other races... they've all been wiped out. Not a single soul remains, except for that one person!"

The atmosphere grew silent and somber.

The White Mask Girl clenched her right fist. "Everyone I loved has died, right before my eyes!"

Death turned her back to the girl. "I still don't believe it. What's the proof?"

"I know you won't believe me, but the proof is that I myself managed to escape its terror."

Death glanced sideways at the girl.

The White Mask Girl stripped off all her clothes, leaving only her innerwear. Death immediately turned to face her.

Her left arm from the elbow down was a robotic hand; her abdomen and left leg from the knee down were implanted with a robotic body.

"All of this happened in the blink of an eye; I suffered severe injuries in just a few seconds. Luckily, my childhood friend managed to save me!" Said White Mask Girl.

Death furrowed her brow.

"For 10 years after the total destruction and extinction, I kept hiding and training my spiritual power until my Time ability reached the God tier. Finally, I managed to return to this era—specifically, 90 years ago." Said White Mask Girl.

"The Authority of Time should only be available to my Mom and Enatur. How can you use it?"

The White Mask Girl put her clothes back. She fell silent for a moment after hearing Death's question.

"You two must become stronger; whenever I'm ready, I'll help you!" Said White Mask Girl.

White Mask Girl suddenly teleported away; she disappeared without giving an answer. Death just sighed deeply; in her mind, she still felt suspicious of the White Mask Girl.

Death stared out at the beach with a empty gaze. Yet she had gained details about what would happen in the future, though it was still full of question marks.

"Tch! What kind of relationship am I supposed to have with Enatur?"

---

Death flew toward the palace. She walked toward the room where Enatur was resting. She opened the door. Earth, Yunia, Shadow, and Rein were already in the room.

Yunia smiled gently upon seeing her eldest daughter. "Death, I congratulate you on your ascension."

A small smile spread across her face. "It's been a long time, Mom. You look just the same as before. Don't worry about Enatur, he's already past the critical phase."

Earth gasped, her eyes trembling. "Critical phase? No wonder he ended up like this, the power he displayed drained his strength and energy."

"Did you treat him?" Yunia asked.

Death nodded. "Thanks to that old man's help, I was able to handle the rest." Death looked at Yunia. "Then why did you all just show up now? It's been eight days."

Yunia chuckled softly. "Time difference—it's only been 30 minutes since the battle; we just arrived here."

"I just met the White Mask Girl." Their mouths fell open in surprise. Death recounted what the White Mask Girl had said.

"Total extinction?" they all exclaimed. They all fell silent, their eyes trembling.

"She hasn't said when it will happen; instead, Enatur and I have to bear that burden. I still don't know why!" said Death.

Yunia furrowed her brow. "The 777 Symbol Creature… a remnant of our darkest past."

Earth folded her arms. "For now, we don't need to worry about it. Besides, we still don't know its purpose."

Yunia sighed. "Earth is right; we still can't fully trust it. Maybe we should just consider this a warning."

Yunia turned to Death. "So what are you going to do next?"

Death didn't answer. She just remained silent, staring intently at Enatur.

---

A day had passed. Yunia, Earth, Shadow, and Rein said their goodbyes to Death. They were in the palace lobby.

Yunia turned to Death, her tone calmer and gentler. "I'm entrusting your lil brother to you, Death!"

Her tone was cold. "Sigh! Just leave him to me!"

Yunia hugged Death gently. "I beg you, honey." She released her hug.

Yunia opened a storage space and took out some medicinal ingredients. "There are three boxes of ingredients inside, one small bottle, and one scroll of recipes."

Death accepted them, and the items floated in front of her.

She also gave Death a cell phone bracelet. "This bracelet is a communication device among realms that I created, and the medicinal recipes for Enatur are already there."

"Bye, sis Death... don't do anything funny with him, he's still an under age, you know!" Earth grinned, trying to tease her.

"That will never happen!"

Yunia opened a dimensional portal, and they entered it.

---

A few moments later.

Death sat on the altar on the 3rd floor. Her finger tapped the phone bracelet on her left hand. The bracelet displayed a list of medicines.

===

Spiritual Soul Recovery Pill

Function: Restores advanced spiritual souls.

Recipe:

- Forbidden Fruit from the Garden of Eden

- God's Blood Essence

- God Core

Status: collected

===

Death looked at the three boxes and opened them one by one. "These three boxes contain the ingredients for the Spiritual Soul Recovery Pill. This is for the second stage of the process."

Then she swiped to the next screen.

===

Essence of Soul Grass Leaves

Function: Strengthens the immunity of the spiritual soul.

Recipe: 5 Soul Grasses. Fire is required to extract the essence.

Status: collected

===

Then Death opened a small bottle.

Sniff!

The fragrant scent of grass roots filled the air immediately. "The Essence of Soul Grass, indeed. This is for the final stage."

Her hand reached for the last scroll and opened it. "The recipe for making the Soul Essence Pill. You're very lucky because I have the ingredients."

Death closed her eyes for a moment, she was reminded of the time she studied with Marrec.

---

"Master, why do I have to learn this?"

"Being a master alchemist is a source of pride. My niece, Chloe, is a genius. Just like you, Death-chan."

"Then what is this?"

"This is the core of the Divine Fire I happened to obtain while wandering the Divine Realm. Use this fire!"

"Whoaa... just like the color of my hair!"

---

Death opened her eyes.

"Those days were so much fun!"

Death opened her storage space, she took out SSS+ level Monster Blood Essence, a Black-Leaf Tree Heart, a Soul Fairy Fruit, and a Soul-Healing Mushroom.

"First, I'll make a Soul Essence Pill to heal the dying spiritual soul."

Green Jade Flames erupted from her right palm. The flames were a pale green—the special flames of an alchemist.

The medicinal ingredients floated before her, and the flames from her palm flowed through the air.

The flames transformed the medicinal ingredients into a liquid. Once in liquid form, the four were combined into a single vortex of green flame.

Sniff!

Death caught the scent of mushrooms and fresh leaves. The vortex of flame spun faster and faster, signaling it had reached the final stage.

Death thrust her hand forward and clenched her fist. The vortex of flame spun at an incredible speed. A shockwave shattered the formation of the vortex.

A dazzling green light blinded the eyes. Slowly, the light dimmed, and a green pill with black and gold patterns, 2 cm in diameter, floated before Death.

After that, Death purified the ingredients for the Spiritual Soul Recovery medicine in the same manner. Once purified, a golden pill with red patterns formed.

Then Death stored the golden pill and the green pill in separate small boxes. "Now... all that's left is to wait for him to wake up."

---

The Divine Realm is where gods who have reached the Divine cultivation level gather. It forms the assembly of the Elite Divine, known as the Divine Realm.

A towering palace stood atop a high hill, surrounded by giant trees with golden-red leaves. Evoking an autumnal atmosphere, the Vermillion Empire.

The sky stretched high, adorned with neatly arranged floating islands.

At the peak of a cliff on one of the floating islands stood a man with shoulder-length, curly red hair. His eyebrows were maroon, his eyes red, and his eyes were closed.

The man's name was Avorius Vermillion. He was meditating, his body radiating a bright red aura.

A dimensional crack opened, and with faltering steps, Zack emerged from the dimensional crack. He walked toward Avorius standing before him.

His voice stuttered. "Pr-Prince Avorius!"

Avorius opened his eyes and turned around. "So it's you, Zack. Why has your body transformed into a spiritual body?"

He knelt down and bowed. His head touched the ground. "Forgive me, Prince Avorius. I failed to bring Princess Yunia's son!"

Avorius gave a wry smile. "Hm, is her son really as strong as Princess Yunia?"

Zack recounted everything that had happened.

Avorius furrowed his brow. "So his name is Enatur Vermillion... huh!"

"He put up a fight that really surprised me, but when he collapsed, suddenly a beautiful woman came to protect him. That woman was incredibly strong!" Said Avorius.

"Pffttt! Hahaha... Zack, don't be ridiculous. Gods outside the Divine Realm are nothing compared to us, the Divine. Only Sister Yunia is worth watching out for." Continued Avorius.

Zack panicked. "But that woman really is strong. Her aura of death is incredibly powerful; it felt like I was facing absolute death."

The atmosphere fell silent. The wind gently ruffled Avorius's hair.

Avorius took a deep breath. "Alright, just rest for now. Tell the alchemist elder to create a new body for you!"

Zack felt guilty. "I'm sorry for my failure, Prince Avorius."

Avorius smiled gently. "It's fine. Besides, if that woman is truly powerful, it means she's the powerful goddess from the dark legends of The Divine."

"In that case, I'll take my leave, Prince!" Said Zack.

Avorius nodded.

"Phew! That means I have to send someone stronger! Let's see just how pure your Vermillion blood is, Enatur Vermillion!" Avorius smiled slyly.

---

Enatur slowly opened his eyes. His eyes glowed a bright red.
