Voren and Seraphine exchanged confused glances, but in the end, they followed Jasper. They had arrived earlier than most of the guests because of their excitement, the anticipation of seeing Corvine crowned, of witnessing the culmination of everything they had worked toward.
Corvine and Liah were now members of the Grimroot pack, so naturally, Voren and Sera were like mother hens, protective and watchful.
Corvine's parents had arrived too, and Desmond had wanted to have a word with Voren, but the Alpha promised the elderly man that he would be right back.
As soon as they reached Liah's room, Liah pulled Seraphine in and told Jasper to take Voren to see Corvine. Seraphine was confused, her brow furrowing with concern, though Liah was all excited, practically vibrating with nervous energy.
"Sera, I'm so glad to see you." Liah's voice was breathless, her eyes shining with emotion. "I can't believe I almost lost him."
