Chapter 110 - Chapter 110: Wind That Ends Everything

A blazing golden light gathered inside Aggron's mouth.

Hyper Beam was ready.

The condensed energy shimmered brilliantly under the sunlight.

Hunter K smiled confidently.

"You really are just a kid. You didn't even try to interrupt Aggron while it was charging Hyper Beam. That was your only chance to survive."

"Is that so?" Sam replied calmly. "Tyranitar, let's end this boring game."

After stepping into the Champion realm, Tyranitar had awakened a new ability from the Shukaku template.

Hunter K and Aggron should feel honored.

They would be the first to witness it.

"Wind Release: Great Detonation."

Wind roared.

Sand surged.

Tyranitar, bearing the Shukaku power, was never limited to controlling sand alone.

Its wind techniques were finally revealed.

At that exact moment, Aggron fired.

The golden Hyper Beam burst forward in a devastating column of energy, tearing through the air toward Tyranitar.

Facing the attack, Tyranitar remained completely calm.

It brought its hands together.

The air in the surroundings was instantly drained of wind energy.

Then—

It released everything at once.

Countless razor-sharp wind blades materialized around Tyranitar and shot forward like a storm unleashed.

In Hunter K's eyes, Hyper Beam was invincible.

But before the hurricane of compressed wind—

The beam shattered.

It was sliced apart as though it were nothing.

"How… is that possible?!"

Those were Hunter K's final words.

Aggron could not block all the blades.

Some slipped past its defenses.

Human life is fragile.

The wind blades struck Hunter K before he could react.

He fell instantly.

Aggron fared no better.

Even its heavy black armor could not fully protect it. The wind carved through a vulnerable gap near its neck.

The wound was fatal.

An injury like that could not be healed through natural recovery.

Aggron collapsed.

The battlefield fell silent.

"Bury them," Sam said quietly.

Whatever hatred existed ended the moment they died.

The sand rose and swallowed both bodies.

Soon, nothing remained but disturbed earth.

Dragon Valley grew silent once more.

---

In the lake—

Gyarados had witnessed everything.

If Gengar hadn't been hovering nearby, preventing escape, it would have fled long ago.

Its instincts screamed danger.

When Sam's gaze turned toward it, Gyarados immediately lowered its head and gave a subdued cry, signaling surrender.

Sam paused.

He hadn't expected that.

He had no interest in unnecessary killing.

The main culprit was gone.

There was no need to eliminate every accomplice.

Sam retrieved Gyarados' Poké Ball from where Hunter K had fallen and held it out.

Gyarados entered without resistance.

The capture was clean.

Looking at the Poké Ball in his hand, Sam had already decided what to do.

He would send Gyarados to Professor Oak for proper training. With Oak's guidance, Gyarados could be corrected and disciplined.

The crisis was over.

Dragon Valley returned to peace.

---

Tommy, who had been knocked unconscious earlier, finally woke up.

"Brother Sam! Brother Sam!"

Ash, Misty, and Brock soon returned with Dragonair and Dratini.

When they saw Sam standing unharmed, they let out relieved breaths.

None of them asked about the poacher.

The bloodstains on the ground already told the story.

They were still just teenagers.

Death was something too heavy to discuss.

---

"Chirp!"

Dratini swam happily to Sam's side, nuzzling against his leg in gratitude.

Unlike Dratini, Dragonair's attention remained on Tommy. Seeing him safe, it smiled gently.

Everything seemed perfect.

After spending some time with Dratini, Sam prepared to leave.

In the end, he still couldn't bring himself to separate Dratini from its mother.

It was too young.

Traveling alone would be cruel.

He said goodbye to Ash and the others.

But just as he turned to go—

Dragonair stopped him.

It nudged Dratini firmly toward Sam.

Dratini tried desperately to swim back.

But Dragonair had made its decision.

"Ha!"

It called sharply, urging Dratini to obey.

"Ash, why does Dragonair want Dratini to travel with Sam?" Misty asked softly. "She must be reluctant to part with her child."

Brock thought for a moment.

"I think Dragonair wants Dratini to grow stronger. If it stays here, it may live peacefully—but it will only become an ordinary Pokémon."

He looked at Sam.

"But if it follows Sam… everything changes. With Dratini's talent, it could become incredibly powerful."

Ash blinked. "Powerful enough for what?"

"To protect itself," Brock replied quietly.

Dragonair understood something clearly now.

If Sam hadn't appeared today—

The ending would have been tragic.

She could not always protect her child.

But perhaps—

Sam could give Dratini a future strong enough to survive this world.
