Tyranitar was sent flying backward, crashing through layers of swirling sand.
Thanks to the buffering sandstorm, it wasn't critically injured — but the impact was brutal.
Sam's expression darkened.
Steven truly deserved his title.
And this was a Steel-type specialist — offense and defense equally terrifying.
Tyranitar slowly rose again within the storm.
Its chest burned with pain.
It understood now.
Defense alone wouldn't work.
It was time to go all out.
Sam's eyes sharpened.
"Then let's see whose offense is stronger."
"Tyranitar — Sand Shuriken!"
The raging sand gathered in Tyranitar's hand, compressing into a massive rotating shuriken. Wind energy infused it, accelerating its spin until the weapon howled like a living cyclone.
Steven's eyes narrowed.
"Flying-type energy?"
Sam shouted back through the storm:
"Not Flying-type — wind!"
"Launch it!"
Tyranitar hurled the spinning sand shuriken forward.
It tore through the battlefield, shredding the air itself.
Steven felt the pressure instantly.
This attack was dangerous.
He didn't hesitate.
"Mega Metagross — Protect!"
A translucent green barrier materialized around Mega Metagross.
In the Pokémon world, Protect was known as near-absolute defense.
Unless the incoming force exceeded its limit—
It would not break.
The sand shuriken collided with the barrier.
Wind howled.
Sand exploded outward in violent waves.
The forest trembled under the impact.
