Chapter 121 - Chapter 121: Storming the Yas Gym

"Memories?"

Sam swallowed the last bite of rice, took out a thousand-yuan bill, placed it on the table, and smiled.

"This is the best meal I've had in a long time. Thank you, Grandma."

"You don't need that much," she said quickly. "Two hundred is enough."

"Haha, just treat the rest as my dinner for tonight."

Now that he was full—

It was time to work.

"Dinner?" The old woman's voice suddenly rose. "You're not planning to leave Dark City?"

"Of course not." Sam stood up. "Didn't I tell you? I came here for Yas Gym and Kaz Gym. Until this is settled, I'm not leaving."

He waved casually.

"See you tonight."

Before she could say anything else, he walked out of the restaurant.

Outside, he didn't forget the unconscious thug. Grabbing the man by the collar, Sam dragged him along the street toward Yas Gym step by step.

The thug's face scraped against the ground the entire way, leaving a trail of blood.

---

Inside Yas Gym

The Yas Gym was in an uproar.

Gym Leader Yas sat at the head of the room, passionately addressing his apprentices.

"Brothers! I've already handled the upper management of Dark City!"

"As long as we crush Kaz Gym, we'll control the entire city!"

"I've received reliable information — the Alliance is sending inspectors. One gym will be upgraded to an official Gym!"

His eyes burned with ambition.

"You all know what that means."

"We don't have much time left! Destroy Kaz Gym, become official, and we'll all rise to glory! I won't forget any of you!"

The apprentices roared in excitement.

Yas raised his arm dramatically.

"Today is the day we make history! Grab your weapons! Follow me! We'll wipe out Kaz Gym and paint their place red!"

The crowd erupted and followed him outside.

Unfortunately—

They walked straight into Sam.

---

Sam stood in the street, hands in his pockets, dragging the unconscious thug behind him.

One of the apprentices froze.

"Ah Hai! Ah Hai! What happened to you?!"

Yas's face darkened instantly.

He understood everything.

Someone had dared to hurt a member of Yas Gym—

In Dark City.

His hands trembled with rage.

If he didn't make an example of this boy today, how could he maintain authority?

Yas stepped forward, eyes cold and murderous.

"Kid," he said slowly, "have you decided how you want to die?"

"Die?" Sam laughed lightly. "You must be Yas, the Gym Leader. Kill me? Do you actually have that ability?"

His tone was pure disdain.

To Sam, a private Gym Leader who wasn't even official was nothing worth fearing.

Yas burst into laughter.

"You'll soon understand what kind of enemy you've offended."

"Come out, Scyther!"

A flash of red light—

A Scyther appeared.

[Pokémon]: Scyther

[Attribute]: Bug + Flying

[Strength]: Early Gym Level

[Potential]: Gym

Sam felt… disappointed.

He had expected something more impressive.

So this was the so-called king of Dark City?

The apprentices began shouting.

"That's Master Yas's Scyther!"

"He's serious now!"

"Kill him! Let him know the price of offending Yas Gym!"

Yas folded his arms proudly.

This Scyther was his trump card — the reason he could stand against Kaz Gym for so long.

In his mind, once Scyther appeared, victory was inevitable.

He looked down at Sam arrogantly.

"Kneel. Kowtow and beg for forgiveness. I might spare your life."

"No need."

Sam calmly took out Charizard's Poké Ball.

Using Bangira for this would be an insult to Bangira.

Charizard was more than enough.

"I'll return those words to you," Sam said lightly. "Kneel now, and maybe I'll let you leave in one piece."

Yas exploded with fury.

"You're asking for death! Scyther — cut him down!"

Scyther lunged directly at Sam.

Yas didn't even care about the rule of not targeting Trainers.

Seeing this, Sam's eyes sharpened.

Good.

If Yas didn't follow the rules, neither would he.

"Go."

A crisp click sounded.

Charizard burst out of the Poké Ball.

The moment it appeared, the temperature of the street seemed to rise.

Yas was briefly surprised by the sight of Charizard—

But arrogance had clouded his judgment.

He believed he was destined to win.

Reality corrected him immediately.

Charizard didn't hesitate.

It opened its mouth—

And unleashed a concentrated Flamethrower.

The blazing fire twisted into a roaring dragon of flames and slammed directly into Scyther before it could react.

The street was instantly engulfed in fire.
