Chapter 116 - Chapter 114

The dark clouds obscuring the moon slowly drifted away, and moonlight illuminated the wilderness beyond the Great Wall, revealing the ferocious, cruel figures of the Demi-humans.

As Pavel shouted, the Holy Kingdom soldiers defending the city wall immediately approached the edge, but the sight from above filled them with panic.

A massive number of Demi-humans were gathered outside the city; the front ranks were towering Ogres and Orcs wielding huge shields, followed by agile Goatmen, and further back were Iron Rats and Snake People…

Demi-humans that typically wouldn't appear together were now fighting side by side, making the Holy Kingdom's defenders realize that this time, they weren't joking; an unprecedented crisis was at hand.

"Don't back down! Think of your loved ones behind the Great Wall! If this place is breached, they will suffer at the hands of the Demi-humans. Is that what you want?! Soldiers, grip your weapons, and defend the line!"

This was a shared understanding among everyone, but seeing the Demi-human Army before them, the Holy Kingdom soldiers couldn't help but feel their spirits waver for a moment.

Upon hearing Pavel's encouragement, the soldiers immediately snapped out of it, mustered their courage, gripped their weapons tightly, and stood ready for battle.

Orland immediately drew the treasured sword from his waist, looking gravely at the scene below the city, and asked Pavel, who was beside him, "Boss, have these Demi-human Tribes gone mad?"

"I don't know," Pavel said, drawing his bow and arrow, searching for a 'Commander'-like presence among the Demi-human forces, a hint of worry in his brows. "I've already sent someone to notify the Commander, ordering all soldiers to man the city walls. I just don't know if we can hold out."

"Isn't there still the Paladin Order? With that woman here, we should at least have a better chance of winning, right?"

"That depends on how much strength she can still exert," Pavel said with a sigh.

Because Remedios suffered a crushing defeat at Lock's hands, not only was her fighting spirit shaken, but she also lost her protective armor.

In a normal one-on-one battle, the role of armor might not be that important, but on the battlefield, losing that layer of protection would greatly reduce her strength, as the battlefield involves attacks from all directions, and humans cannot perfectly account for every angle.

After waiting for a while, the Demi-human Army outside the Great Wall stopped about four hundred meters from the city wall. Although their eyes gleamed with savagery, they did not immediately attack.

At this moment, the Commander, having been notified by the messenger, had already led all the soldiers in the fortress onto the city wall.

"Pavel, what's the situation now?" The Commander ran up to Pavel and Orland, asking urgently.

Beside him were members of the Paladin Order, and Remedios, leading them, was indeed as Pavel had expected: she was not wearing the armor that Lock had utterly destroyed, but had temporarily chosen a set of light armor from the armory. However, such defensive gear might not offer much protection against the sharp fangs and claws of the Demi-human races.

The Commander leaned over the battlements, looking down at the Demi-human Army, and quickly frowned.

Their numbers were astonishing, but what puzzled him was their movements.

Not immediately attacking the Great Wall usually came down to a few reasons.

One, not all of their forces had arrived on the battlefield, and they wanted to wait for all their combat power to be assembled before launching a full-scale assault. Two, they were waiting for siege weapons or methods that could help them scale the walls or destroy them.

Whatever the reason, it was not necessarily good news for the defenders.

But since the enemy hadn't directly attacked, they also couldn't abandon the Great Wall's strategic advantage and choose to fight outside the city.

Just as the Commander was pondering what kind of sinister plot the enemy was hatching, the battlefield seemed to stir.

"What is that!?" Pavel, whose senses were keener, suddenly looked up, only to see a burning rock in the sky—no! It should be something much larger—falling rapidly towards the city wall at an unstoppable speed.

Everyone was drawn by Pavel's action, looked up, and then their eyes filled with an expression of fear.

It's over!

As soon as they saw the giant meteor in the sky, they knew it was heading for them and would absolutely flatten them into a paste.

In that instant, no one even reacted to run; they were all frozen in place by the continuously enlarging behemoth in their vision.

Whoosh!

"Everyone get out of the way, you idiots!!!"

A black shadow leaped up from behind them, and a shout exploded in their ears. Remedios immediately recognized the figure.

A man riding a red and black Bicorn, clad in azure armor, charged towards the falling giant meteor. He drew the longsword from his hand, and the blade emitted a dazzling glow.

"Slash!"

Lock roared, and with all his might, he swung his longsword, sending a massive crescent sword qi flying towards the meteor.

The two collided about four hundred meters from the city wall. The enormous sword qi directly shattered the front part of the meteor, and small pieces of rock immediately scattered onto the city wall.

"Quick, dodge!!!"

Pavel, who reacted first, immediately grabbed the Commander and ran to the left. The others also shouted and quickly moved away from the central impact zone of the meteor, which was the blockhouse.

But it was clear that their speed would never outrun the meteor's descent.

Remedios also ran to the right, accompanied by two Vice Commanders, but she couldn't help but look up at the sky.

Lock did not flinch in the face of the meteor about to crash into him, or rather, he couldn't retreat now. "Oh, my life, I wonder if it hurts to get hit in the face?"

In an instant, the 'Sword God Domain' unfurled, and countless sword qi continuously impacted the meteor. Although it still couldn't stop its downward trajectory, its speed was noticeably slowing, and more fragments of rock were scattering.

After a brief restraint, the remaining large portion of the meteor directly crushed Lock and the Bicorn, slamming hard onto the Great Wall, and a massive shockwave forced its way out.

"It's too late, everyone jump off the city wall!!!"

Seeing the critical situation, Pavel immediately roared, then instantly grabbed the Commander and leaped down from the high city wall.

Seeing this, the surrounding soldiers also gritted their teeth and jumped down one after another.

Boom!

A sound like a thunderclap, accompanied by an extremely strong tremor, swept across, and for a moment, the Holy Kingdom officers and soldiers felt a ringing in their ears.

Ah!!!

Wails echoed continuously. Many unfortunate souls who hadn't had time to jump down from the high wall were directly buried by the damaged Great Wall, and there was no need to imagine; they were certainly crushed into paste.

Pavel and Orland stood on the ground outside the Great Wall, involuntarily turning to look at the damaged city wall behind them, feeling fortunate to have escaped with their lives.

"Lord Kurt…"
