Chapter 74 - 74: TYRANT - 1

Live on television, a politician speaks.

Sitting in their homes, millions watch and listen.

Half-asleep, Helios awakes.

"I've made my mistakes, I've counted my blessings. I've corrected every mistake I could have made to make this nation a proper nation. I believe it is our duty to get closer to God, not on an individual level but as a community to base our entire system on Him instead of a set of degenerate guidelines and impulses."

"You're the degenerate. Perseus works on this, Perseus works on that...Perseus doesn't work. We should all just die. I'm tired, day after day, everything circling in shit. There's no hope, no goal. Not a glimpse of a dream."

He kept on watching nontheless, and a rare type of anger caught him off guard. Beyond that latent rage, excitement. "What if?"

"What if I killed all of them? I've been rotting here for far too long. I want to slay them. I want to eat them and shit them. I want to move, I'm a man I cannot just sit and watch that fucking screen until I die. The longer you keep the lion in the cage, the deeper the wound will be. You keep a man in a cage for long enough, the entire world becomes his playground. I will fucking eradicate you all. I can't go on like this. You should have provided a proper life for me. You gave us porn, junk food, war. You offered us mediocirty. I will throw it all up back on you and your children. I will do whatever I please with your families. From now on everything that exists belongs to me. It won't just be you. It'll be your loved ones. It'll be anyone that dares to defend you. It will be a devastating annihilation that shall include the traitors too. There is no mercy anymore."

Helios, greasy skin and messy hair, no shirt on, draws a gun towards his tv screen.

"You're fired."

He shot and in the sudden darkness, he merged with it and became a new man. Not programmed by a machine, but led by instinct, to find meaning in violence.

He contacted close friends, told them about his idoelogy. And as it follows: "the human race is a natural construct, those defying it are not human, therefore it is our right to kill them. The traitors will be hung."

The Assembly, on that day, suffered a total of losses equal to the number of members they had. Helios' group, armed with every weapon they could have found in the cities, stormed the entire place, locking them up inside.

Helios wanted the cameras to keep rolling, for the millions sitting at home to watch and listen. To have this sentiment of a terrifying tragedy striking the nation, to create an infamous historical moment no one could ever forget.

"We are gathered here today to radicalize an entire generation and threaten another. You've mocked us while the cameras were on, off, and to our faces in public. We have food and water, but for each politican here that FUCKING MOVES from their seat, we will throw away one military nutrition pack and one bottle of water. If you move from your position, you will be shot. All of you. No one is safe today. You will learn to respect the role we elected you for. Today you belong to us. You will find a way to rebuild society and make it flourish. You shall remain here as long as you haven't found it. I suggest you start working together."

The politicians, after seven hours of denating, began sweating and couldn't bear it anymore.

"You want water, propose an idea. You want food, denounce one of you who you know betrayed the nation."

"We are all at fault!" One of them shouted.

"Then you will all starve. Squad, eat in front of them. Take a break."

Two politicians used coded language to converse from across the room, a woman from the squad picked up on that and shot them both. Helios asked questions and had his answers; but most especially, was perfectly satisfied with the way things turned around for him.

"I'm not alone. I was rotting, thought I was death sick. I was in dire need of patriotism for humanity. I wasn't the only one dying inside."

He was also struck by her beauty. A strong, tall woman with blue eyes and a great intelligence. Military training and the spirit of a leader.

"What's your name?"

"I go by Agony."

The elected officials starved in front of the entire nation, Helios' squad mocked them, kicking their shit to their faces and beating them up in the atrocious heat. One of them, a high-ranking official, begged on the floor for a mercy he was never granted.

Helios asked for him to be hung on the wall of the Assembly, for his body fluids to leak on it. The rest of them passed away in pain.

Agony was at the stage where the politicians usually adress the nation and looked up behind her, her hand touching the soft flag. While the squad was cheering and celebrating, she had her own moment, a vision, a dream. She whispered "Ismael."

Helios eventually learned the name of all of those concerned by this long-lasting corruption and took them all down. The men and women following him were not civilians anymore, they were the Squad of Helios.

They knew how to act, how to behave. The entire process in and of itself was the training. They learned to know the depth of the rage and misery of a man trapped in a cage for decades. The light in the eyes of the predator, once extinguished, came back to life in the most brutal way possible.

Time passed, Helios decided that the neighbooring nations also included in pacts, treaties, corruption, deserved the same fate.

July 1st.

The Squad of Helios gets ahold of the nuclear codes and drops five nukes.

But before the sky turned black, Helios asked two days of him let loose in those countries.
