Two days earlier on the planet Zenin
"It's been three days and there's no reply. I'm going, Ely." Rameses announced in the middle of the kitchen, flatly and without a hint of hesitation.
Three days had never felt so long before and he was tired of waiting.
Kai would never ignore him like this.
Even if things were bad. Even if he truly wanted him to leave and forget everything that had happened before his departure, he would have at least told him so.
His Kai was warm and kind even if he pretended not to be at times. He was brave even if he didn't realise it. He was tied to him even if he didn't know it.
Ely's face fell when his eyes flickered to the silent rune lying on the kitchen counter and nodded slowly, "Alright...just - be safe...bring him back."
