Chapter 73 - Gojo is Gojo

"Did you just teleport here all of a sudden without any appointments?" Suzuki asked as he looked at Gojo, who walked toward him with a smile.

"Of course~!" Gojo smiled goofily as he stared at Suzuki despite his eyes being blindfolded. "I am the strongest, so I can do the teleportation, and of course, you won't refuse me, right? Or, do you want to refuse to meet me, Suzuki Zenin, the Clan Head? By the way, can you do teleportation?"

"No, I can't. Our technique is fundamentally different." Suzuki sighed inwardly before looking at everyone. "Prepare teas and sweets."

"Sweets?" Gojo tilted his head.

"You don't want to?"

"I want to!"

No one could say anything between the two, and they just looked at each other for a moment before they followed his words, and that was to prepare tea and sweets to welcome Gojo.

"Did you just come here after you finished your work?" Suzuki asked as he drank his tea to relax his throbbing mind.

"I do." Gojo sighed as he complained, eating the sweets as if they were staple foods, ignoring the calories. "The Elders are so useless, after all. If it weren't for me, this country might be as good as gone."

While he said so, he looked at Suzuki with a smile as if Suzuki planned to kill all the Elders, and even slightly exuded his power to exert domination.

"I am not such a brutal guy." Yet Suzuki remained calm, showing neither fear nor losing his composure as he faced Gojo. "I am not as simple as you, after all."

"Eh? Me? Simple? What do you mean?" Gojo was dumbfounded as he asked, feeling a bit insulted.

"Aren't you?" Suzuki looked at Gojo exhaustedly. "All you think is just to change something by killing the Elders; using your mighty, god-like power, to change everything, yet in the end, you don't come to the Elders. Instead of coming to me to check whether I am dangerous or not, threatening me not to do anything stupid, when you make a comparison, what's the difference between you and the Elders, then?"

"..." Gojo.

What was the difference between Gojo and the Elders?

Nothing.

The two of them had power. Gojo was the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer, and as the strongest, he could get away with anything. On the other hand, the Elders were the highest-ranking group in the Jujutsu society, so despite their weak powers, they could order Gojo and everyone around them.

People might tell him that Gojo and the Elders were different, but frankly, Suzuki felt they were the same, since both tried to show their dominance through power.

If there was a difference, it was that Gojo was likable, handsome, and tried to be kind. Yet, the truth was, like the Elders, he only cared about those around him, and the rest of the Jujutsu sorcerers, and the others, who were being isolated and lived in torment.

Gojo couldn't solve anything, and probably, he selectively ignored, as his focus had always been on the Elders and all other big problems, ignoring the inside, the core problem of the Jujutsu society itself, which was simply a group of outcasts that were isolated by the society, and couldn't earn their livings except for fighting dangerous creatures known as the Cursed Spirits.

"You, the Elders, and the rest, they are the same. You think that by sitting on the top, you can change anything, but when you die, when your clan members or your family replace the top positions, won't they be similar to the Elders now?"

"..."

Gojo wanted to say something, but he couldn't since he knew that Suzuki was correct.

His plan to change the Jujutsu world was to wait for the Elders to die and be replaced by the younger generations he had taught in Tokyo.

Still, when those young generations grew old and were replaced by their descendants, would those descendants be clean and not corrupt like the current one?

Gojo said they wouldn't do it, but even the 2nd generation wouldn't do it. What about the 3rd, the 4th, then more?

"Then, what are you going to do, then?"

Still, Gojo was unhappy, and he frowned, staring at Suzuki, waiting for Suzuki's answer on whether Suzuki would take the throne of the Elders.

"I don't."

"....." Gojo.

"Do you think I want to sit down in the Elders' position? Don't be kidding. I don't have the patience to be the customer service of humanity, managing the complaints of the governments, and all other things."

"....." Gojo.

"C-Customer service?"

"Isn't it?" Suzuki sighed. "Like you, who will demand them to be fair, complain, and also threaten to kill them, and I am sure that the Elders' problems aren't just from you, as there are many, who want to kill them, and the goverment, the prime minster, and others demand for them to clean up the country with the Cursed Spirits as much as possible.

"When you think of that, my life is easier, as I only need to beat up those who aren't obedient to me, and just turn them into socially dead, as I manage my family, so why should I trouble myself to become the Elders, and face all the constant problems, like you, who can't accept my method?"

"....." Gojo and everyone else.

Naturally, Gojo wasn't the only one who listened to his words. However, everyone, as Mai, Maki, Naobito, and the others, especially those who still had prestige and powers in the clan, listened to his words, and they were speechless. Yet they also understood his ideas, and, frankly, this was good, as they knew he wouldn't cause trouble or have a strange, hero-like idealism, where he wanted to change society or something.

No, Suzuki had never wished to become an Elder, becoming the punching bag of everyone and a source of complaints.

If he had to say, the Elder was like the government; those who were at the top, like the president or the ministers, were exposed by the media all the time.

If the economy, society, and all others are messed up, who would likely be blamed?

The government.

It was those people in politics.

Meanwhile, Suzuki just wanted to be the shadow governor, the one who controlled the infrastructure, the one that the governor couldn't ignore, since if they caused him trouble, the society, economy, and everything would go dead, which was also the reason why the Elders had no choice but to accept him as the clan head of the Zenin Clan.

As one of the Big Families in the Jujutsu society, his family controlled 1/3 of the society's total economy. If he brought his wealth directly into a foreign country and hid it in offshore accounts, the Jujutsu society's economy would collapse next week.

To control the Jujutsu society, Suzuki had no need to be as strong as Gojo, and he had no need to be in the Elders' position; he just needed to have leverage, to control everything, so that way, no matter who was at the top, they had to submit to him.

Still, the Elders were the Elders, and Gojo was Gojo, so—

"Anyway, do you want to fight?"

Gojo suddenly stood up as he stretched his arms high. "I feel a bit stiff from sitting down. You don't mind helping me with some working out, right, Suzuki-kun~?"

"..."
