Chapter 74 - The Evil

"..."

Suzuki couldn't say anything; instead, he looked at Gojo speechlessly.

What was this?

Was this a way for Gojo to try to show that he was above everyone else?

Just because Gojo lost in the argument, he decided to fight Suzuki directly.

Was this guy so immature?

Yes, Gojo was!

No, it wasn't just because of that, since Gojo was losing the battle of logic against Suzuki.

Unlike him, who used emotions, wishing to leave the management of the Jujutsu sorcery into the hands of the ones he had taught, which was a group of students, could that method truly erase the corruption in the Jujutsu society?

No.

Even Gojo had to admit that, when he died, and his pupils' descendants replaced the Elders, there was a chance those descendants would be corrupt, as they held power for a long time.

While in the beginning, there might be a change, such as making the organization become kinder or warmer, showing care for everyone, especially in this shitty Jujutu society, where everyone was just expected to slay down Cursed Spirits for minimum wage, and even sent a group of young people who hadn't even graduated from high school to fight a dangerous creature known as the Cursed Spirit, the core, the real problem itself hadn't vanished.

It would be rooted, as the teacher, the one who taught them, Gojo, also couldn't even solve the problem himself.

Yet, in Gojo's mind, such a thing was normal.

For him, who grew up in the house of the Jujutsu family instead of a normal family in this world, he thought that such an act of fighting those Cursed Spirits was normal.

'No, it's not normal at all.'

This world was weird, Suzuki thought; yet considering this was a Japanese story, where the young people, the high school students, were expected to fight a bloody and dangerous fight as they might die, or even if they could stay alive, they would have a trauma that was impossible to erase; he knew that it was normal.

Knowing this, as Suzuki said, Gojo couldn't accept it, realizing how brutal it was and how little different he was from the Elders!

More importantly, unlike Suzuki, who tried to use other ways to control the Elders, he, Gojo Satoru, who was known as the all-mighty, the only one under the heaven, and the strongest, could only think of one method.

To kill the Elders.

Yup, nothing else, nothing more.

Gojo's method when he faced the Elders had always been, "Do you want me to kill you all?"

Like the Elders, who wanted to kill Suzuki just because Suzuki took away the position of the Clan Head, Gojo was the same, since if Suzuki was really an evil person, someone who was unstable, someone who shouldn't become the Clan Head of the Zenin Clan. Gojo knew that he would threaten Suzuki to kill him.

When one compares the two, who was more evil?

Was it one who threatened to kill others, or one who would make a threat that he would take all of the family's wealth to a foreign country, as he would expose all the tax evidence and proof of the Elders?

Naturally, it was the first one, as without a doubt, no one wanted to be killed, and in the modern world, to take away the lives of others was the greatest act of cruelty.

The proof?

The fact that there were many protection organizations grew and were telling people to stop killing, but let's stop that now, since what was important now was that Gojo just wanted to show his dominance.

In terms of intelligence, Suzuki might be above Gojo, yet Gojo wasn't stupid, and because he wasn't stupid, he could see that, for Suzuki's own ambition, Suzuki didn't care about others' lives at all!

If Suzuki were really doing what he would do, taking away all the wealth of the Zenin Clan to a foreign country, what would happen?

By then, the whole society of Jujutsu would go bankrupt, the Cursed Spirits would ravage this country, and many would die!

Unlike Gojo and other powerful Cursed Spirits, whose might makes people tremble, and they were treated like a nuclear bomb, Suzuki, on the other hand, didn't need to be as strong as a nuclear bomb, nor did he need to use the Domain Expansion instead of the Domain; he just needed an internet connection and a brokerage account to bankrupt the Jujutsu economy.

Still, while many might be confused, let's break down how his threat works, okay?

To understand why this threat instantly paralyzed the Higher-Ups, one would have to look at how the hidden Jujutsu society functions behind the scenes. It is a secret, shadow economy, and the Big Three Families are its central banks.

The jujutsu world is incredibly expensive to run. The Elders don't just sit in a room; they manage a nationwide crisis 24/7. They need massive amounts of liquid cash for:

The first would be the hush money. The Elders needed to pay off the normal Japanese government, police, and media to cover up the massive property damage and civilian deaths caused by the Curses.

The second was payroll. They needed to pay the salaries of the "Windows" (civilians who can see curses but can't fight), the "Clean-Up Crews" who rebuild the cities, and independent mercenary sorcerers like Mei Mei.

The third was barrier maintenance, as it was necessary to fund the materials and locations required to keep the hidden barriers active across Japan.

The Zenin Clan has been accumulating wealth for over a thousand years. It holds the world's largest collection of Special Grade and Grade 1 Cursed Tools. In the Jujutsu economy, these tools, once again, act like gold bullion. They are priceless assets that support society's values. The clan also owns massive tracts of secret, barrier-protected land across Japan.

In other words, as Suzuki was the head, he effectively held one-third of the entire Jujutsu economy's GDP in his hands.

If the Elders refused to recognize him, he wouldn't execute the threat like Gojo and the rest, who are just a group of emotional people. He wouldn't burn the money; he would simply move it out of their reach.

First, using his manager, he would instantly transfer the clan's liquid cash reserves into untraceable offshore shell companies, crypto wallets, and foreign index funds. The money left Japan completely.

Secondly, he took the priceless Cursed Tools from the Zenin Armory and quietly auctions them off to normal, non-sorcerer billionaires around the globe—Russian oligarchs, American tech CEOs, and European royalty who want "magic" artifacts.

The result?

The artifacts are gone, the money is offshore, and the Zenin Estate's value drops to zero.

If Suzuki really pulled the trigger, the Jujutsu Elders would be left holding an empty bag. The ripple effects would destroy them within a week.

First, there would be a mercenary strike. There was a character like Mei Mei in the story, who fought only for money. If the Jujutsu Headquarters suddenly lost a third of its funding and couldn't pay her exorbitant fees, she would stop fighting. Other independent sorcerers followed suit.

Second, the government's trust, since without the Zenin Clan's massive bribes, the normal Japanese Prime Minister and the police force would stop looking the other way when a city block got leveled by a Curse. The government would actively turn against the Jujutsu Headquarters.

Lastly, the exposure risk of selling cursed tools to foreign billionaires was that it could expose the existence of Cursed Energy to the entire normal world, destroying the secrecy that the Elders have protected for a millennium.

Suzuki's move was genius, since fighting him would have meant the Elders committing economic suicide.

Yet this was also why Gojo felt a chill: as the ripple echoed, the Jujutsu Society was in ruins, and the country would be ravaged by the Cursed Spirits and the Cursed Users; by then, thousands, or more, people would die!

Did Suzuki not realize that?

No, it was because Suzuki realized that and still did it, knowing his act might cause the deaths of tens of thousands; Gojo knew he should show his dominance, or else no one could stop Suzuki if Suzuki decided to become evil!

Yet, Suzuki stared at Gojo, thinking Gojo was as naive and stupid as ever, except for fighting; this guy had no solution at all.

Yes, useless.
