"Yes, Jaime?" Asked Yeshua with a smile. "Abraham followed what God ordered him to do?" Answered Jaime in a questioning way. Bet he's just guessing, but I got to get in the Word as well. Yeshua nodded with a smile. I don't know if that's for Jaime or me? Yeshua then looked at me and looked back at Jaime. Oh, both! Okay, okay."What did God order Abraham to do, Jaime?" Yeshua asked Jaime with a smile. "To leave Abraham's father's house and his family to go to another country where God promised him to bless him a whole nation," answered Jaime as he focused only on Yeshua.
"Your brother really did read the Bible," whispered Andrew to John. "Who said he isn't?!" Whispered John back to Andrew, making him raise both his hands unto his chest and shook his head in response. John squinted his eyes at him then looked at Simon. Yeah… Simon definitely did it. I said to myself as I slowly nodded.
"Yes. Thank you, Jaime," thanked Yeshua to Jaime with a smile. "It was the first order that God had given to Abraham. However, there's still another order that God gave. What is it?" Asked Yeshua as He looked at us and to the crowd behind us. "What is your name, my friend?" Asked Yeshua as He continued to look at the crowd, making us look who it was that He asked. "Uhm… Tabitha, Teacher," she shyly answered as she slowly lowered her hand.
All eyes and ears are on her now. It must've been scary, given the fact that she acts shy and is looking shy right now."Uhm-God ordered Abraham to-to get a heifer, a-a goat, and a ram. Each 3 years old. With also a dove and-and a young pigeon. To-to cut them in halves a-and to create a pathway between the sacrifices. But-but Abraham did not cut the birds in half… ju-just to clarify," answered Tabitha while she stuttered. Huh… only heard her name and things about her. I never really get the chance to know her.
"Thank you so much, Tabitha," thanked Yeshua to Tabitha, making us look back at Him and see Him smiling widely at her. "God ordered Abraham to get the heifer, the goat, and the ram as a sacrifice to begin the covenant. It was cut in halves because that's where the two people will walk side by side, signifying the commitment of both people. But in that covenant, only God walked through the sacrifice while Abraham fell in a deep sleep. God chose to carry the heaviness of the covenant that He made with Abraham." Taught Yeshua. All of us are listening intently to every single word that He spoke. Never really thought of it that way. I wouldn't even think of it because I was not reading the Holy Bible.
Yeshua sighed with a faint smile. "Did you know what it symbolizes?" Asked Yeshua. I slowly shook my head in response. And so did Andrew, Simon and John who were sitting in front of us. "Going through the sacrifice cut in halves is cursing yourself. When either one of the people who created that covenant broke the agreement, they will face the same fate of the slaughtered animals," taught Yeshua further. Uhm… that… uh… as much as I can understand it… that was the extreme version of a pinky promise. I gulped.
