corridor did not move,it did not breathe.
It did not exist in the same way it had before.
After the last shockwave, everything had fallen into a strange, unnatural stillnessas if the building itself was waiting.
Watching....,
Anie stood at the center her breathing had changed.Not fast,not panicked but deep.Measured each inhale slow each exhale controlled.The trembling in her hands gone.Replaced by something quieter something heavier.
A faint distortion rippled through the air around her.not violent,not chaotic but precise.like invisible threads were being pulled together.
Eli lay a few steps behind her his vision blurred in and out.the ceiling above him felt distant.too far,too quiet.
"…Anie…"
His voice barely formed but it didn't matter.Because she already knew her head tilted slightly.not fully turning,Just enough to acknowledge him.
"I'm here."
Her voice was calm,too calm.Eli felt it immediately that change.
This wasn't the same unstable power from before.This was something else.
Something… controlled.
His chest tightened not from pain.from realization.
She's not losing control anymore…,
She's taking it.
Across the corridor R-07 stood still.
For the first time he wasn't observing casually.he was focused completely .
"…So this is the transition."
His voice lowered sharper.the Hunters around him shifted.not forward not attacking but ready.
Because the atmosphere had changed.
Not in their favor she took one step forward.the floor beneath her didn't crack.didn't shatter It compressed.
"THUMM",,,
A soft, heavy sound followed.Like pressure had been forced downward into reality itself. A hunter closest to her flinched.not from fear from instinct.
"Do not advance."
R-07 raised his hand his tone had changed.No curiosity no amusement.
Only calculation.
Anie didn't look at them her eyes remained steady.Focused on him.
"You hurt him."
Simple words.But the weight behind the was not simple.R-07 tilted his head slightly.
"Correction." He said calmly.
"He chose to be hurt."
Silence.the air tightened again Eli forced himself up.his arm shaking violently now.every movement worse than before.
"Anie…"
He coughed a faint trace of blood.
"Don't "
She raised her hand slightly.and the space between them stopped.
Not physically blut functionally.the distance remained.but movement through it felt impossible.Eli's body froze mid-motion.not restrained but unable to continue.
"…just stay there."
Her voice softened not cold,not harsh.
Protective that was new R-07 noticed.
Everything.
"Interesting shift."
He stepped forward slow measured.
"Your emotional trigger has stabilized your output."
Anie didn't respond.but the air around him tightened.pressure focused R-07 stopped.just before stepping further
"…so that's how it is."
He lowered his stance slightly.ready for the first time he acknowledged her as a threat.
"Engage."
Hunters moved three at once.from different angles.
"ZAP !"
Energy bolts fired but this time Anie didn't react late.she moved her hand
just slightly.the air bent the bolts curved.not deflected,not blocked.
Redirected.they shot past her hitting the wall behind.silence.one Hunter froze.
"…trajectory altered?"
Before he could react Anie stepped forward again.the space around him
compressed violently.
"THUD!"
He dropped forced to his knees.not hit,
not struck.pressed the others hesitated.Eli watched through blurred vision.
"…she's controlling it…"R-07 moved.

"WHOOSH!"
He closed the distance instantly his strike came clean.precise but,
"STOP."
Anie's voice cut through.and his movement slowed.not stopped completely.But resisted like he was pushing through something invisible.
His fist reached her but weaker slower.
she turned and caught his wrist silence.
A moment frozen R-07 looked at her.
Not surprised.but focused.
"…confirmed." he said quietly.
"You're evolving faster than expected."
She didn't respond her grip tightened.
The space around his arm compressed.not crushing containing.
R-07 twisted breaking free with force.
he stepped back not retreating,repositioning.
"Full tactical response."
Hunters immediately shifted formation changed.weapons adjusted new devices activated. a low hum filled the corridor,
Eli's eyes widened slightly.
"…containment tech again…"
Anie felt it too the pressure the interference.but this time she didn't panic.
She closed her eyes just for a second.
A breath in out and then everything aligned.
The distortion around her stabilized.the interference pushed back.the hum
cracked.
"WHRRR—CRACK—"...
Devices flickered hunters stepped back again.R-07 didn't he watched carefully.
"…adaptation confirmed."
Then suddenly his comm device activated. a sharp, abrupt signal.
"—[signal interference]—"
Static then a voice unclear.distorted.
"…R-07… immediate "
The transmission cut silence.R-07 didn't move for a moment.then
his posture changed.slightly subtly.
but enough,
"…Understood."
He lowered his hand hunters froze confused.
"Stand down."
The order came instantly no hesitation.
no explanation the corridor fell silent again.Anie didn't move Eli barely breathed.R-07 turned,just like that no final attack.no warning no threat nothing.he began walking away hunters followed quick efficient.
Like the entire operation had been… canceled.
Anie watched confusion flickered but she didn't speak.didn't chase didn't react.because something told her
this wasn't over.Not even close R-07 stopped at the exit.just for a second without turning he spoke.
"…next time…" a pause.
"…you won't get this chance."
Then he left gone just like that.
The corridor was empty again.only debris,only silence,only the aftermath.
Anie's body trembled.
Not from fear from exhaustion.the control slipping her vision blurred.her knees weakened.
"…Eli…"
She turned just in time to see him collapse.
"THUD."
Everything inside her dropped.
She ran faster than before reached him.
Her hands shaking again but for a different reason,
"Eli…!"
No response his breathing faint.
His body cold her chest tightened.not power not fear.
Something else something new something she couldn't name.and for the first time her voice broke.
"…don't leave…"
The corridor said nothing....
