"No. I believe you wouldn't deceive me in this matter."
To Hiro's slight surprise, Cassiz only stared at him for two seconds before making her decision.
Crossing into another world-something that should only exist in novels-had already happened to her.
A kind person offering advice before sending her back to her original world was also a classic development.
And the ending for those who ignored such warnings was usually tragic.
I don't want to become a needlessly tragic character.
If he truly has the ability to send me back and grant me Progenitor-level power, then there's no reason for him to deceive me about this.
That line of thought surfaced in the Oni girl's mind, leaving her no room to refuse.
"I am willing to believe you," Cassiz said solemnly. "Please bestow upon me the power to change this outcome, my Lord."
...Right.
I introduced Yuri and Grayfia, but I never even told her my own name.
Hearing the unnatural pause in her words, Hiro finally realized it.
"Just call me Hiro."
"Hiro-sama."
Cassiz nodded carefully, her tone gaining a hint of respect, clearly treating him as someone of great importance.
Clang.
Hiro pushed back the chair and stood up, meeting her eyes directly.
"I'll say this first."
"The power I give you is a one-time consumable."
"Although its scale can surpass even a Progenitor's Servants, once it's used, there will be no second chance."
"I'm not strong enough yet to transmit power across worlds."
Not even his own consciousness.
Recalling the scene yesterday-around this same time in Japan-when he projected his consciousness onto Erica and manipulated the high-ranking members of the Bronze Black Cross, Hiro felt a faint sense of regret.
Otherwise, after dealing with Takehito Senzaki, he might have explored the Strike the Blood world using [Susanoo].
Six years before the plot began.
Nagisa Akatsuki would still be a third grader.
Natsuki Minamiya would probably be around twenty.
Aurora hadn't awakened.
And the Black Death Emperor-who could transform into a Divine Beast-was likely still alive.
Purely from a personal standpoint, he was extremely curious about that world.
"I understand," Cassiz replied without hesitation. "I will never use this power unless it is a critical moment for the survival of the Special Zone."
Her expression was solemn, like a student about to enter an examination hall where a single mistake meant everything was over.
"Grayfia," Hiro said calmly. "Take her to the side room and have her wait for me."
"Understood."
Grayfia bowed slightly.
She watched Cassiz leave and didn't ask anything about her own return.
Watching the two figures-one tall, one small-disappear down the corridor, Hiro sensed Amaterasu's position and walked over unhurriedly.
She's Amaterasu, yet she prefers staying in the main hall of her younger brother's shrine.
Is there some deeper meaning?
Or is it simply because staying in her brother's shrine feels better?
"Amaterasu," Hiro said as he entered the hall. "I'm going to show you something. Just tell me what you think."
"Mm."
Receiving her consent, Hiro sat down cross-legged across from her.
He summoned the purple humanoid figure and placed it between them.
Then, he poured the portion of Reincarnation Cursed Power he had obtained from Susanoo-no-Mikoto into [Susanoo].
He quietly sensed the changes.
And then-
There was no dramatic 'then'.
Aside from the white smoke becoming denser, the addition of the Sealed Power's sake gourd, the appearance of the [Sword of Totsuka], and an all-around increase in hardness, size, duration, and oppressive presence...
There didn't seem to be any other obvious difference.
"This..." Amaterasu's emerald eyes fixed on Susanoo's back. Her tone showed a rare fluctuation. "This is the cursed power of that Heretic God from before?"
"The Reincarnation Ritual should be Pandora's work. Why would-"
"No," Hiro interrupted gently. "Pandora obtained the ability to perform the Reincarnation Ritual through the [Ring of Usurpation]."
"I just happen to possess a similar ability."
Dismissing [Susanoo], Hiro smiled at her.
"Well?"
"Do you feel anything different, before and after?"
Amaterasu thought for a moment.
Then she returned to her usual calm expression.
"It feels closer to my younger brother, Susanoo."
"If one ignored its appearance and let it enter the High Plain of Heaven, it could deceive all the gods-except for me, Tsukuyomi, Father God, and Mother God."
The High Plain of Heaven... Takamagahara.
I've heard of it, but I've never been there.
Listening to her explanation, Hiro felt quietly relieved.
Good thing I asked her first.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have noticed this change at all.
After bidding farewell to Amaterasu, who remained to watch over her younger brother's shrine, Hiro headed back.
He hadn't reached the room where Grayfia and Cassiz were waiting when he sensed Seishuuin Ena rushing toward him.
Her voice reached him clearly.
"Shinjin-sama! Shinjin-sama!"
"The Committee just informed me-there's a Heretic God appearing in the northeast!"
"Are you interested?"
"It seems to be a god named 'Tatari'!"
Turning to look at Ena running over, Hiro's expression turned a little strange.
More Heretic Gods is fine.
He doesn't mind gaining more Authorities.
He doesn't mind Grayfia becoming stronger either.
But-
Didn't they say Heretic Gods were rare?
Why did so many suddenly pop up just days after his arrival?
"I know," Hiro replied calmly. "Go wait for me at the shrine entrance."
"Yes!"
Ena beamed with excitement.
Carrying her [Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi], rewrapped in a cloth bag, she practically bounced away, like a child who'd just heard about a field trip.
The more capable someone is, the more work they get.
Hopefully I don't miss Erica and the others.
Shaking his head slightly, Hiro smiled wryly as he followed after her.
