Chapter 83 - Chapter 83

THE ACCIDENTAL AUDIENCE

The two of them stayed like that for a long time locked in a back-hug as the moon moved slowly across the beach sky. Fay didn't hug her back, but she didn't pull away either. She just listened to the rhythm of Kei's breathing and the repeated, broken apologies that seemed to bleed into the sound of the ocean.

Neither of them noticed a young woman sitting on a nearby pier, her phone clutched in her hands. She wasn't a professional photographer or a spy hired by Arthur Sterling. She was just a traveler, a fan who had been following the #BeachBridge tag since the hospital handshake.

When she saw the two famous women on the sand, her heart nearly stopped. With trembling fingers, she snapped a series of photos. No professional lighting, no staged poses just the raw, blurry reality of Kei's desperate hug and Fay's silent surrender.

She uploaded it to her social media with the caption:

"Guys… I'm literally at the same resort. I just saw them. This isn't a stunt. They were crying. My heart is breaking. #KeiFaybeach #RealLove"

Within seconds, the post went viral. Because the photo was grainy and candid, the public believed it even more. It wasn't a polished magazine cover, it was a "stolen" moment.

The "shippers" were in a frenzy. The obsession had reached a boiling point. To the fans, this was the ultimate proof that the "Professional Power Couple" was actually a deep, tragic love story.

Back at the shore, Fay finally pulled away. Her face was cold despite the warmth Kei had just provided. She wiped her eyes quickly, turning to look at Kei, whose eyes were still red.

"Words don't fix fifteen years, Kei,"

Fay said, her voice regaining its sharp edge.

"You can say 'I love you' until the sun comes up, but it doesn't change the fact that I had to survive without you."

"Fay, please..." Kei reached out, but Fay stepped back.

Just then, Fay's phone left on the porch steps began to chime with endless notifications. She walked over and picked it up. Her eyes widened as she scrolled through the news alerts already popping up.

"Kei,"

Fay said, her voice trembling with a new kind of hurt. She turned the screen around to show the photo that had been posted only minutes ago.

"Is this why you followed me? Was this the plan? To make sure someone saw you 'apologizing' so the fans would love us more?"

Kei looked at the blurry photo, her face going pale.

"Fay, I didn't… I don't even know who took that. I was only looking at you."

"It doesn't matter who took it!"

Fay yelled, the sound of the waves drowning out her sob.

"Every time I think you're being real, it ends up on the internet. I can't do this. I can't be your 'content' anymore."

Fay turned and ran back toward the villa, the sand flying behind her. She didn't care about ghosts anymore, she just wanted to get away from the woman who could break her heart and trend on Social media at the exact same time.
