The medicine finally started to work, but Kei's dignity was still wounded. She didn't act like a child, but she was definitely being very "mysterious." She stood by the couch, holding a spare blanket with a very serious and focused face.
"Fay, I'll sleep here tonight" Kei said looking at the ceiling.
"I think it's more comfortable here."
Fay leaned against the doorframe, watching her with a small smile.
"Kei, it's not comfortable there"
"Are You' embarrassed because of the tooooooooot? Hahahaha"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Kei said quickly.
She didn't whine, but she moved with a very fast, stiff walk toward the sofa.
"My ears were busy at that time. So I don't hear anything" kei said
.
.
.
Kei sat down on the couch and wrapped herself in the blanket like a sophisticated burrito. She sat very straight, trying to look cool, but her face was still a bright shade of pink.
.
.
.
For the next few minutes, it was a very funny game of "Don't Touch Me."
Fay walked over and sat on the edge of the couch to check if Kei still had a stomach ache. Every time Fay's hand got close, Kei would slowly very slowly slide her body to the left.
"Kei, stay still. I need to check your pulse,"
Fay said, trying to keep a serious doctor face.
"My pulse is excellent. It is the pulse of a winner,"
Kei replied, sliding another inch away.
Soon, Kei was sitting on the very, very edge of the cushion. She looked like a professional gymnast trying to balance on a thin wire. She was still trying to look cool, but her arms were waving slightly so she wouldn't fall off.
"If you move one more centimeter, you're going to hit the floor," Fay pointed out.
"I am simply exploring this side of the sofa....I think it's soft here too...," Kei said.
Suddenly, a small gurgle came from her stomach. Kei didn't scream, she just closed her eyes and took a very deep, slow breath.
"_"
"That was…...the wind...Very common."
Fay couldn't help it. She laughed quietly. Kei was trying so hard to be "cool" while her stomach was betraying her.
Fay didn't say anything else. She just stood up and climbed onto the narrow couch.
"Fay! This area is only for me!" Kei said, but she didn't run away this time.
She just looked surprised.
"Its not for you to decide, I'm a guest too" Fay said.
The couch was way too small for two people. It was chaotic.
There was a lot of "Watch your elbow" and "Move your knee, please." They wiggled for five minutes, trying to find a way to fit without falling onto the carpet.
.
.
.
Finally, the chaos stopped. Fay didn't ask for permission. She reached out and pulled Kei's back against her chest. She wrapped her arms firmly around Kei's waist in a tight back hug.
Kei went stiff for a second, then her shoulders finally dropped. She relaxed. She didn't act like a ninja anymore, she just leaned back into the warmth.
"You're a very stubborn patient," Fay whispered into Kei's hair.
"I am a patient with high standards," Kei whispered back, finally smiling.
She reached down and held Fay's hands, locking their fingers together.
.
.
.
After a few minutes of silent and looking at each other. Kei slowly lay down in the couch.
"You're really gonna sleep here?" Fay said
"Yeah...you can go..." kei said while moving her hand, shooing fay.
"I..." Fay said
"Yeah???" Kei said
"You wanna sleep with me?" Kei said teasingly
"Of course not.." fay said
"Oh...just the other day you ask..." Kei said
Fay stand up
"Good night!" Fay said. Then she went toward her room.
Kei just look at fay walking toward her room and went to sleep.
.
.
.
.
After a few minutes later
Creak
The sound of the door opened
Fay slowly open the door and slowly look at kei sleeping.
Patter
Patter
Patter
The sound of fay walking slowly towards kei. Then when fay was in the couch she slowly bend to look at kei sleeping.
.
.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh"
"I knew it" kei said
"You.....why did you suddenly grabbed me?" Fay said
"Is it that hard to say that you want to sleep with me?" Kei said
"_"
Fay didn't say anything as she look at kei in the eyes.
"Fay...."
"_"
"Fay"
"_"
"Fay"
"What?"
"I want a kiss"
"_"
"Forget it..." Kei said as she released her hand on fay waist.
"O...okay" fay said.
"Then kiss me fay..." Kei said
"What..." Fay said
"It's nothing" kei said.
As kei was slowly moving fay away.
"Kiss~"
"Happy?" Fay said
"_"
Kei was silent with a serious face.
"Let's sleep..." Kei said
"Ha?...."fay said she was a little annoyed.
(Why doesn't she look happy?) Fay thought
"Kiss~"
Kei was still silent and looking serious
(Is she mad?...why?) Fay thought
"Are you mad?" Fay said
"Pft"
"Hahahahaha"
"Now you're laughing?....are you okay?" Fay said
"I'm not mad..... I'm just....."
"Just...what?"
"It's nothing..... let's sleep" kei said, then she turn her back on fay
.
.
"_"
"Ehhh....what is this?" Fay said
"Why are yours ears red?...are you blushing" fay said in a teasing tone.
"Don't tell me you're...." Fay said
WHAM
Fay didn't finish what she was about to say because kei suddenly put her hand into fay mouth, stopping her to talk.
.
.
They stay like that for a few minutes looking at each other in the eyes, then kei slowly release her hand from fay mouth.
.
.
"Kiss~"
"Good night" kei said, then she suddenly close her eyes and sleep.
Fay just smile.
(Cute~) Fay thought
Fay turn off the lamp and she slowly hug kei.
"Good night"
.
.
In the dark living room, on a couch that was definitely too small, both fell asleep. They were squeezed together so tight that even if Kei's stomach made another "ghost" sound, only Fay would hear it. It was funny, a little bit crowded, but very sweet.
