Chapter 86 - Domino

I shifted my gaze, letting it settle on Domino.

The air around him was vibrating, thick with a primitive kind of violence that threatened to swallow everyone in the room.

I knew my brother—I knew that when he reached this level of combustion, trying to fight him physically was a bad omen for the furniture and the human body.

The only way to disarm a man like Domino when his blood was screaming for a body count was to hit him with cold, hard logic. You had to force his brain to override his hands.

He was right about the disrespect, and he was right about the incompetence of sitting here in circles while our men were being zipped into bags, but his timing was a suicide mission.

"Dom," I said, keeping my voice steady, like I was speaking to a wild animal that hadn't decided whether to bite yet.

I waited until his eyes—dark, hollow, and terrifying—locked onto mine.
