Giant Octopus?
Roger looked at Jack Sparrow, who was crying his eyes out like a fallen drunkard, and a question mark slowly appeared in his mind.
Are you f*cking kidding me?
"You're saying, your massive the dauntless was dragged to the bottom of the sea by a Giant Octopus?"
Roger repeated, wanting to confirm if his Chinese listening skills had deteriorated.
"Yes! My ship! My beloved the dauntless!"
Jack cried even more sadly.
He hugged Roger's leg, wiping all his snot and tears on his pants made of fine silk.
"She was so big, so sturdy! Just like my lover!"
"But that damned, slimy, sucker-covered bastard! It just... just..."
"Dragged her..."
Jack gesticulated for a long time, unable to find a suitable adjective.
Roger kicked him away in disgust.
"Get to the point."
"The point is, I'm broke."
Jack spread his hands, a look of utter resignation on his face.
"My ship is gone, my crew has run off, and there's only one last sip of rum left."
He shook the rum bottle in his hand, then carefully poured the last drop into his mouth, smacking his lips with a look of lingering enjoyment.
Roger looked at him, feeling his fists itch.
You're a legendary pirate, how can you be in such a sorry state? Aren't you ashamed?
"So, you're here to beg for food from me now?" Roger asked.
"No, no, no!"
Jack shook his head like a rattle-drum.
"Dear Lin, we are colleagues, partners!"
"How can you use such an unpleasant word as 'begging'?"
He straightened his tattered captain's coat, which was beyond recognition, and struck what he thought was a dashing pose.
"I'm here to join you!"
"I've been observing you for a long time."
Jack leaned in, lowering his voice and speaking mysteriously.
"Your ship is great! Your crew is spirited! Most importantly, you look... very rich!"
Nonsense, I just robbed an East Asian Pirate King.
"I've decided!" Jack slapped his thigh.
"I, the great Captain Jack Sparrow, will offer my unparalleled wisdom, my supremely charming charisma, and... this!"
With that, Jack carried a very ancient-looking wooden box, still covered in seaweed, from his broken plank.
With a 'thud,' he placed the box on the deck.
"What is this? Your urn?"
Billy leaned over to watch the fun, his face full of curiosity.
"Shut up! You ignorant, stupid pirate!"
Jack glared at him, then solemnly stroked the box.
"This is the the heart's chest! It's Davy Jones's phylactery!"
"Ding! Detected key item: the heart's chest!"
"Host! This is it! Inside is the heart of that octopus-faced captain! Whoever possesses it can control Davy Jones and his pet Great Sea Monster!"
"Give the the heart's chest to me, and I can immediately upgrade technology to the modern era! Plus, you'll unlock special abilities!"
Control the Great Sea Monster?
Roger's eyes lit up.
This thing sounds quite useful!
"Why are you giving this to me?"
Roger looked at Jack; he didn't believe this guy was that kind-hearted.
"Sigh..."
Jack let out a long sigh, gazing at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, his face full of melancholy.
"I originally intended to use it to negotiate with Davy Jones."
"I owe him a promise; he wants me to serve him for a hundred years. I was going to use this heart to buy my freedom."
"But now..."
Jack pointed to the empty sea.
"My ship is gone, and I'm very angry about his actions!"
"I want revenge on him!"
"He's terrifying."
Jack shivered involuntarily as he said this.
"His ship, the Flying Dutchman, is elusive."
"His crew are all cursed sea monsters."
"And his pet... that Giant Octopus!"
"It will drag you into the endless deep sea, never to be reborn!"
Jack described it vividly, spitting saliva everywhere.
The pirates on deck listened in stunned silence.
Roger, however, yawned.
That's it?
Cursed crew?
Are they as abnormal as my employees who can resurrect indefinitely and use their heads as bowling balls?
