Chapter 99 - Evidence

"Fighting? That woman is one hot mama."

"Fight! Fight! What are you waiting for?"

"Wait a minute, isn't that Tony Stark over there?"

"Holy shit, wasn't his place blown up?"

"And that Asian guy... I think his name is Chen Chen. He's a super-rich guy too! I'm gonna get a photo with him later."

As soon as Chen Chen and Tony's identities were recognized, the bar's atmosphere became even more electric. Several young people immediately grabbed their phones and notebooks and rushed over.

Everyone else pulled out their phones to take pictures, the flashbulbs flashing incessantly. Yet Chen Chen and the woman opposite him, who remained on high alert, seemed to ignore the chaos around them.

Tony sensed trouble. If these two fought, innocent bystanders could get caught in the crossfire. He grabbed the alloy case and shouted, "Suit up!"

"Identity confirmed. Activating smart armor." A mechanical voice announced as the alloy case automatically expanded.

Red and silver alloy gauntlets extended from the case, clamping around Tony's wrists and enveloping his hands. With a powerful upward motion, he lifted the continuously deforming metal case to his chest. The localized, shifting components began to spread across his body, assembling themselves into a suit of armor. More components flew into place, seamlessly integrating and operating in perfect coordination.

With a final ding, the entire Iron Man suit was assembled. The red and silver armor gleamed dazzlingly under the bar's neon lights.

"Everyone here, you'd better leave immediately! A battle's about to break out here!"

But the spectacular assembly of the Iron Man suit kept more customers rooted to the spot, phones raised, snapping photos.

"What did he say about a battle?"

"Who cares? First, let me post this on Facebook."

"These idiots!" Tony fumed, watching the oblivious civilians around him.

At that moment, the woman standing opposite Chen Chen, who had remained on high alert, sprang into action. Her figure moved with arrow-like speed.

A golden-red light suddenly emanated from her body, followed by flames flickering around her hands, radiating intense heat. She lunged at Chen Chen, her fists flying through the air. The heat waves accompanying her punches sent the surrounding civilians flying in all directions, their bodies slamming against the ground.

This was a bar, and sparks ignited the alcohol, causing the flames to surge. Bottles exploded, injuring civilians as the inferno consumed everything in its path.

The civilians finally realized the danger and abandoned their morbid curiosity. They scattered like headless flies, stampeding toward the exit in a chaotic frenzy. Unfortunately, the flames blocked their escape. Tony Stark, who had been observing the situation in his battle armor, tried to fly over to rescue them.

"Too weak," Chen Chen murmured, watching the scene unfold as if in slow motion. He observed everything, his voice low. "The unknown often breeds foolishness, especially among ignorant mortals who never learn to respect power."

Calmly, he extended his palm toward the charging woman and slowly shook it.

An invisible wave instantly surged outward, and all the flames, sparks, and other fiery elements seemed to gain sentience, dancing and swirling through the void. They dodged the civilians, coalesced in Chen Chen's palm, and condensed into a massive crimson fireball. With a flick of his finger, the fireball shot toward the short-haired woman.

"What?!"

Chen Chen's actions were a blur to the woman. In her vision, a fireball materialized in his hand and hurtled toward her. Instinctively, she crossed her arms in front of her body.

"Aaaah!"

The woman screamed as the flames seared her flesh.

Gritting her teeth, she tried to break free from the inferno, but the flames clung to her like a second skin. No matter how she moved, she couldn't escape, and her regeneration speed was completely outmatched by the fire's destructive power.

She glared venomously at Chen Chen. "It's you!"

The short-haired woman seemed to abandon her defenses, determined to drag Chen Chen down with her. The red-gold light emanating from her body grew increasingly radiant as she swung a punch at him again. Crimson energy swelled her frail frame, making her glow like a miniature sun.

"Such a blind fool, unable to perceive the gap in our strength?" Chen Chen muttered, extending his right hand towards the woman who was about to self-detonate. He then clenched his fist.

The flames wrapped around her body suddenly contracted, forming a colossal fiery beast that, like a demon from hell, swallowed her whole.

In the few breaths it took for her to struggle desperately and attempt to self-detonate, the woman's body turned to ash.

A gentle puff from Chen Chen scattered the ashes, which were then swept away by a cold wind from outside, as if everything that had happened in the bar had never occurred.

Chen Chen slowly began to walk forward. The commoners who had been crowded together moments before instantly parted, clearing a path before him.

The scene fell into absolute silence. Having witnessed Chen Chen's god-like use of flames to destroy a life, no one dared make a sound or block his path.

Terrified eyes fixed on Chen Chen, but they held no gratitude for a savior; instead, they were filled with the fear one might reserve for devils, demons, and monsters.

At its core, this was perhaps the primal fear of power and the unknown.

Approaching Chen Chen, Tony glanced around at the civilians, seeming about to say something but hesitating, as if holding back.

"Hold onto the documents. We're leaving," Chen Chen said calmly, pushing the door open and stepping outside.

Tony, clad in his armor, held the documents and stared at the civilians who seemed to breathe a collective sigh of relief as Chen Chen departed. He sighed inwardly. Chen Chen's methods are bizarre and terrifying, but he still saved your lives.

Stepping out of the bar, Tony found the sky still filled with falling snowflakes. The buildings on either side glowed with warm light, while the central street was blanketed in silver frost, creating a dazzling sight.

Reaching out to catch a snowflake, Tony, despite the armor's insulation against the cold, felt a chill in his heart as he thought of the people inside the bar.

He shook his head to clear his mind. "Isn't this how heroes always are? It's not the first time I've seen this. No need to dwell on it."

Tony walked over to Chen Chen. "I'll investigate the accounts in these documents. There's bound to be crucial information that can serve as evidence against Killian."
