Lucien's POV
I had completely changed my outfit before leaving Zack's apartment. Shirt, pants, even the jacket. Everything different. I'd even gone home first to switch cars, just in case. If anyone had seen me near the park, I didn't want the same vehicle showing up again.
Though I doubted it mattered—I'd driven out before Jason came out. Still, I couldn't be sure if he had checked the garage, noted the plates, or anything like that when he was going inside the park. I doubted that but still, I wasn't about to risk being too certain.
The drive to his private residence was quiet, but my mind wasn't. By the time I rolled through the gates, I'd gone over a dozen excuses just in case I got caught. Half of it sounded weak even in my head.
I pulled up near the front, cut the engine, and was about to step out when I caught movement at the door. Maria.
