My eyes rolled back, though the motion came weak, half-hearted… my body still thrumming from the way his mouth had just worshipped me. A breathy, trembling laugh escaped my lips, though no real humor lived in it.
Just the dizzying, overwhelming heat of him, of this, of everything he'd already unraveled in me, thread by careless thread, until I barely recognized the woman gasping beneath his hands. "You're crazy," I managed, my voice rough, like I'd been screaming for hours already.
Draven didn't even flinch. His dark gaze locked onto mine, unyielding, as if he could see straight through the defiance I was barely holding onto, as if he found it amusing that I still bothered to put up a fight at all. A slow, knowing look settled over his features, the kind that made me feel both seen and utterly exposed. "I'm being honest here, princess," he murmured, his voice a low, vibrating growl that resonated against my skin. "I'd never lie to you."
