Li Mei had a look of struggle on her face as she hesitated her eyes behind the visor trembling as her armored fist clenched; as once again, a wave of purple shadows snaked around her body. However, after a few seconds of hesitation, her eyes once again flashed with resolve.
"Shi'er… if it was you who had suddenly died, and I were to find out that the circumstances surrounding your death were not what they seemed to be at the start, then I would also lose my mind in this way… this also applies to Father… so just let me go… I don't want to hurt you."
Huang Shi stayed quiet, his entire body shining with golden light. With a flick of his fingers, golden flames also appeared all around him as he tried his best to calm his nerves.
Let's just tell her everything… as fast as I can… or else she'll just run away and I won't be able to stop her.

Li Mei narrowed her eyes, her expression shifting, and yet she remained unmoved as she spoke with anger.
"Then why didn't you tell me? I could have helped you! Did you think I was weak? That I would be useless even if you told me? Is that it?"

Once again, a powerful wave of purple shadows erupted all around Li Mei's body. The spiritual energy pressure almost forced Huang Shi to his knees; in fact, if it wasn't for Li Mei purposefully ensuring that he wouldn't collapse from the pressure, he would already be face-down on the ground.

Despite this, the injuries he had accumulated from Li Mei's previous outburst, combined with him now being the only one to bear the pressure of Li Mei's aura, were putting a tremendous strain on his body.

What Huang Shi didn't know was that even though it was true that Huang Li wasn't that injured, fighting with his own daughter had put a tremendous strain on his heart to the point that he was incapacitated by it.
After all, he only had one daughter left in this world; he didn't even want to take the risk of her growing to hate him because of this.
He then grit his teeth, his expression turning fierce as he shouted:
"You and I both know that the reason Grandpa didn't tell you the truth is because he knew you would react this way… he knew you would not be able to control your emotions and would go head-first into enemy lines just to have a shot at revenge, even if you died in the process. As your father, even with your overwhelming emotions, you should at least know that, right?"
Li Mei grit her teeth, her expression changing as thoughts rampaged through her head. Before long, she opened her mouth and shouted back, "Then what about you? Why didn't you tell me? You were the one that gave me this power! You of all people should know what I'm capable of by now! Why, despite all of that, did you still choose not to tell me anything?!"
Huang Shi paused for a bit, trying his best to calm his raging emotions as his golden flames flickered across his fingertips.
"It's because I fucking love you?! What kind of fucking idiot would I be if I fucking sent my woman to fight my damn battles for me?! I'm not fucking stupid!"
Despite his words, Li Mei's heart trembled her expression changing and yet it still wasn't enough as she was still not convinced; her purple eyes flashed with indignation as she prepared a retort, and yet, before she could do so, he continued to speak.
"Also, maybe you've forgotten, but I've never even met my real mother! Even if she did sacrifice her life for me—and I will always be endlessly grateful for that gift—the person who raised and took care of me all this time was you! It was you and Grandfather that raised me all this time!"
"Are you telling me I should risk the life of my lover and my grandfather because of some mindless vengeance without any hope of success? Of course not! I had to plan things out! I had to figure out how to do this properly to ensure that when our enemies die, you will all live long enough to celebrate it!"
"Do you know how much I've done behind the scenes to make sure that our family has the highest chances of victory in this war of revenge?! The moment I found out about my mother's sacrifice, I have been itching to rip my hands into their throats and take their lives away, but I held back because I am weak!"
"But now, I have power! Just a bit more and no amount of planning from the Azure Dragon Sect will stop our family from getting their revenge! But you need to be patient, and you need to put your trust in me and Grandfather! Your tantrum right now is one huge indication that my grandfather was right in his decision not to tell you the truth prematurely!"
Li Mei started to tremble as her spiritual energy began to destabilize. In fact, she was so distraught that tears started to drop from her eyes as she spoke in a trembling voice.
"But… but… my sister… she died… died because of those people… how is it fair that they live and my sister dies… it's not fair…"
Huang Li, who had long since stood up from the pond, his entire body soaking wet, was now staring at this scene from a distance.
His entire body was trembling, his eyes flashing with sadness as tears also dropped form his eyes.
