Freda Pov
I lay there feeling the heat pulsing through my body in waves. The ache was worse now because he had started to give me what I needed and then stopped halfway. My body was crying out for relief that would not come.
"This is not fair," I said to the empty room. "We did everything right. We broke the curse. We trapped Yolande. Why is this happening to us again?"
I tried to ignore the need, but it was impossible. Every nerve in my body was on fire. Every breath made the ache worse. I needed relief, and I needed it desperately.
My hand moved between my legs almost on its own. I touched myself trying to ease the terrible burning. My fingers moved in circles the way I knew worked. Fast and steady and desperate for any kind of relief.
"Please work," I whispered. "Please just make this stop. Please let me finish."
