Damon's POV
I set Selene down on the examination table with hands that shook.
Not from fear.
From rage.
It crawled under my skin like fire, hot and suffocating, filling every inch of my chest until breathing felt like inhaling smoke.
My wolf paced restlessly inside me, claws scraping against bone, teeth snapping for a fight it couldn't yet reach.
Someone had touched her.
Someone had hurt her.
Someone had put claws in her skin and made her bleed.
My wolf wanted blood.
"Everyone out,"
I ordered the medical staff.
The command sliced through the room like a blade.
My voice was low, but the threat in it was unmistakable.
"Except you."
I pointed to the newest healer. A young woman with dark hair pulled into a messy braid—Cassidy.
She stiffened immediately.
Her eyes flicked to Selene, then back to me.
"Fix this," I said.
My jaw clenched.
"Now."
