I didn't sleep that night.
Instead, I sat curled in the window seat of Damon's bedroom, the diary open in my lap, reading by moonlight.
My mother's handwriting was delicate, precise. Each word chosen carefully, as if she'd known these pages might be her only legacy.

Garrett grows more paranoid by the day.
He knows I've been watching him.
