Chapter 28 - CHAPTER 28, THE PATH BEYOND GODS AND DEMONS

CHAPTER 28: THE PATH BEYOND GODS AND DEMONS

The Royal Battle had finally ended, but the silence it left behind was far heavier than the chaos that came before it.

For days, Hero Academy had been a battlefield of ambition and power. Every corner of the arena had witnessed clashes intense enough to shake the ground, every student had pushed themselves beyond their limits, and every moment had been filled with the hunger to rise.

Now—

It was all quiet.

The arena stood empty, its surface marked by deep cracks, scorched lines, and frozen patches that refused to melt. The energy that once roared through the air had faded, leaving behind only a lingering pressure… as if the place itself remembered the battles.

Students had returned to their rooms.

Some celebrated their victories.

Some sat in silence, replaying their losses.

Some trained harder, driven by what they had seen.

But Krrish—

He felt none of that.

Because to him, those battles were insignificant.

A distraction at best.

Night had completely taken over the academy.

The sky stretched endlessly above, filled with darkness and scattered stars. A cold breeze moved through the open corridors, brushing against the walls, slipping through windows, and carrying with it a strange, uneasy feeling.

Inside his room—

Krrish sat alone.

The faint moonlight entering through the window outlined his figure, casting long shadows behind him. His posture was still, but his mind was anything but.

For the first time in a long while—

He wasn't thinking about fighting.

He was thinking about saving.

His thoughts moved slowly at first, then faster, connecting pieces one by one.

The student in the arena who had lost control.

The surge of demonic energy that had taken over his body.

The girl surrounded by divine light… who had looked peaceful—

Yet wasn't truly herself.

The realization that neither the Demon Emperor nor the Gods could enter the Human Realm directly—

And yet…

They were already here.

Not physically.

But through influence.

Through control.

Through fragments of power hidden inside living beings.

Krrish leaned forward slightly, resting his elbows on his knees.

"This isn't just war…"

His voice was low, almost a whisper.

"It's invasion."

Not of land.

Not of territory.

But of will.

That was what made it terrifying.

In a normal battle, you could see your enemy.

You could fight.

You could win.

But here—

The enemy was inside the people he needed to protect.

Inside humans.

Inside beasts.

Inside life itself.

He clenched his hands slowly.

"If I fight them directly…"

"I'll destroy the hosts too."

"And if I do nothing…"

"They'll lose themselves completely."

A dead end.

No matter which path he looked at—

It led to loss.

Krrish leaned back, staring at the ceiling.

His thoughts spiraled deeper.

He analyzed everything he knew.

Every battle.

Every technique.

Every law he had understood so far.

But nothing—

Nothing gave him an answer.

Minutes passed.

Then more.

The silence in the room grew heavier.

"There has to be a way…"

His voice carried frustration now.

"There has to be something I'm missing…"

But there wasn't.

At least—

Not here.

Slowly—

Krrish closed his eyes.

His breathing began to steady.

"If the answer doesn't exist in the outside world…"

"Then I'll search where everything begins."

He let go of all distractions.

All external thoughts.

And gradually—

His consciousness began to sink inward.

Deeper.

Further.

Beyond the surface of his own mind.

Darkness surrounded him.

Endless.

Silent.

Timeless.

This was his inner space.

A place untouched by the outside world.

A place where truth couldn't hide.

And as always—

The Black Shadow was there.

Standing in the distance.

Watching him.

Waiting.

Krrish walked toward it.

His steps steady.

His gaze sharp.

This time—

There was no hesitation in his voice.

"No more guessing."

"I need answers."

The Shadow didn't respond immediately.

It simply observed him.

As if measuring not just his words—

But his intent.

"You've realized the scale of the problem," it finally said.

Krrish stopped a few steps away.

"Yes."

"And I also know…"

"This isn't something I can solve alone."

A brief silence followed.

Then Krrish asked directly—

"Is there a way to stop them?"

"To stop demons and gods from controlling humans and beasts?"

The question echoed.

But for the first time—

The Black Shadow didn't answer right away.

That alone made the situation clear.

This wasn't simple.

After a long pause—

It spoke.

Slowly.

"Heavy with truth."

"I don't know."

Krrish's eyes narrowed slightly.

Not in anger.

But in realization.

"You… don't know?"

The Shadow continued,

"This isn't a technique you can counter."

"It's not a form of power you can overpower."

"It's a law."

"A fundamental structure of existence."

It stepped closer.

"Higher beings…"

"…can influence lower ones."

"That's how reality is built."

Krrish remained silent.

Listening.

Understanding.

"And something like that…"

The Shadow's voice dropped.

"…cannot be easily broken."

Silence filled the void again.

But this time—

It wasn't empty.

It was heavy.

Still—

Krrish didn't step back.

Instead, he asked the only question left.

"Then is there anyone…"

"…who does know how to stop it?"

This time—

The Shadow reacted.

Its presence shifted.

Subtly.

But noticeably.

"Yes."

Krrish's focus sharpened instantly.

"Who?"

The Shadow's voice became deeper.

More serious.

"There is only one."

"The one who stands beyond gods…"

"…and beyond demons."

The space around them felt different now.

As if something unseen had acknowledged the conversation.

"Devon ke Dev…"

The Shadow spoke clearly.

"Mahadev."

The name didn't echo loudly—

But it resonated deeply.

As if it carried weight beyond sound.

Beyond meaning.

Krrish didn't move.

Didn't speak.

He simply absorbed it.

"Mahadev understands balance."

The Shadow continued.

"Creation and destruction."

"Freedom and control."

"He exists beyond both sides."

A pause.

Then—

"If there is anyone who can guide you…"

"…it is him."

Silence followed.

But this time—

It wasn't uncertain.

It was decisive.

Krrish had his answer.

Not a solution.

But a direction.

The next moment—

His eyes opened.

He was back in his room.

The same quiet night.

The same cold breeze.

The same dim light.

But everything felt different.

Because now—

He knew where he had to go.

Krrish slowly stood up.

His expression calm.

But firm.

"So that's the path…"

Inside his mind—

The Black Shadow spoke again.

But its tone had changed.

Now—

It carried caution.

"I don't think it will be easy."

Krrish didn't respond.

"Reaching Mahadev…"

The Shadow continued.

"…is not just a journey."

"It's a test."

Krrish's eyes narrowed slightly.

"A test?"

"Yes."

"A test of your mind."

"Your will."

"Your existence itself."

The air around him felt heavier.

"Mahadev does not appear easily."

"And even if he does…"

"There is no guarantee he will help you."

Krrish walked toward the window.

The night sky stretched endlessly before him.

Dark.

Silent.

Unknown.

The Shadow spoke one last time—

"Prepare yourself, Krrish."

"Because from this moment forward…"

A pause.

"You won't just be facing the Demon Emperor…"

Another pause.

"…or the God Emperor."

"You will stand against both."

Silence followed.

Deep.

Absolute.

Krrish looked up at the sky.

His reflection faintly visible in the glass.

His eyes—

Steady.

Unshaken.

"Then I'll face them."

No hesitation.

No fear.

Only resolve.

Because now—

This was no longer just about strength.

This was about freedom.

About breaking control.

About saving a world that didn't even realize it was being taken over.

And if that path required him to face beings beyond imagination…

To walk into a test set by someone beyond gods and demons…

To stand alone against both sides—

Then so be it.

Because Krrish had already made his decision.

And once he decided—

There was no turning back.

Somewhere far beyond—

Forces continued to move.

Demons gathered their controlled armies.

Gods strengthened their chosen vessels.

The world slowly shifted toward an unseen war.

And in the middle of it all—

One person had chosen to stand against everything.

The journey had just begun. 🔥
