Synopsis
The world is a joke, and Rei is the punchline. After losing his parents and his younger sister to a series of cruel "accidents," Rei's own life ends in the most ironic way possible: run over by the same drunk driver who killed his sister. But instead of the peace of the grave, he is abducted by a mysterious system and thrust into the body of a 16-year-old prisoner in a medieval fantasy world. That operates on the logic of a game Rei once played for his sister—a "romance" game notorious for its difficulty. Labeled a [Worthless Wretch] by a condescending system, Rei finds himself at the bottom of a food chain consisting of powerful nobles, mystical monsters, and users of "Blessings" "Curses" and "Oaths.” and the system itself is his biggest hater. Armed with nothing but a "Worthless Wretch" title and a cynical mind sharpened by a lifetime of misery, Rei must navigate a world of Blessings and Curses. a powerless prisoner has only one weapon left: he’s already lost everything, and he’s too stubborn to die twice.

Chapter 1 - incomplete death

A wise man once said…

'Death is the only thing that can complete the story of a person.'

Apparently the saying is referring to how as long as you are alive, your "story" is unfinished and open to change.

Death is the final boundary that turns a series of events into a completed whole.

'well, turns out the person who said that didn't know what the hell he was talking about, Let alone deserves to be called a wise man! What a fool.'

Rei thought to himself...

'Turns out my story didn't end even though i died after all.'

Yes, Rei the miserable wretch, died a moment ago, after spending 7 damned hours gamning and not even beating the tutorial of a certain game, he went to buy something to eat in the middle of the night and got hit by a truck and bled to death at a random street.

It was truly a death worthy of a worthless wretch…

Yet…

He didn't expect what happend to him after death.

He didn't even know what he was expecting but it certainly wasn't that!

—————————————————-

After his death he felt something with an eerie presence taking him somewhere but… it was interrupted by another equally horrifying presence.

He didn't even see them… he just felt that they were there when he died…

Then they argued about something before the second presence took him somewhere.

It all happened so fast that he couldn't even react… not that he would have been able to stop it anyway.

Regardless, short or maybe long after… he couldn't really tell, since the concept of time seems to not work properly there...

He found himself in what seems to be uh… space?

Or so he presumed…

it felt like he was observing the whole universe…

There was an endless void full of light…

The void was crowded with the ghosts of a billion years. Swirls of nebular gas, painted in bruised purples and electric magentas, stretched across light-years.

Among them hung the planets, gas giants… swirling marbles of amber and gold, lashed by storms larger than entire worlds.

The sight before him was… beautiful!

But… the beauty held a jagged edge.

Further out, where the light seemed to warp and fray, sat a black hole. It wasn't a hole at all, but a terrifying presence—a puncture wound in the fabric of reality.

‏Around its throat, an accretion disk of captured stardust spun at impossible speeds, glowing with a friction-fire that outshone the galaxy itself... space-time didn't just bend here it surrendered.

Just looking at it sent a primal shiver, a reminder that for all the fire of the stars, the universe ultimately belonged to the gravity that would eventually pull them all home.

It was all so terrifyingly beautiful… it was so vast so endless and magnificent that Rei couldn't help but be mesmerized by it...

He spent what felt like an eternity watching the universe in all it's harrowing glory.

He nearly forgot who he was and what he was doing here...

But he somehow managed to pull himself together and remembered...

'Oh right… I'm dead...'

Then he realized something as he tried to speak without a mouth...

'I… I don't have a body?!'

He tried to look at himself only to realize that he doesn't have eyes… but for some reason...

'I… can see…?'

He didn't have a body but he seems to be a… soul?

It was a weird sensation… he could see but can't speak, he can move slightly but can't touch anything…

He didn't have a particular shape either, it was as if he is in an…

'Incorporeal state...?'

Then something suddenly popped up before him, as he heard a melodic beautiful voice...

[Congratulations your dead.]

'Huh?'

'What? what is this? why did this come out of nowhere? and more importantly why does it look a lot like the system message of that game i was playing before dying!?'

If Rei did have a face it would would definitely twist in confusion at this moment...

[It's because I'm that system fool.]

The voice replied as if reading his thoughts.

'...'

[...]

'Your serious?'

Rei said in a deadpan tone… or thought to be more precise since he doesn't have a mouth.

[Yes.]

The system replied in an equally deadpan tone.

'Okay… so what the fuck is happening!?'

At the not very polite question Rei asked, another message appeared along with the melodic beautiful voice...

Only this time, the tone used wasn't melodic or beautiful at all, but it sounded ominous and full of terrifying intensity and zeal… yet still it sounded almost mocking and condescending...

[Rejoice O' Wretched soul, For You Have Been Granted The Privilege To Serve A Greater Purpose By A Much Higher Being...]

[And Thus You Shall Be Given A New Vessel Similar To Your Past One...]

[And Be Sent To The World Of The Game (■■■■). ]

'WAIT WHA-!'

Rei tried to ask something but...

-Flash!

He's words got cut off by a blinding ray of light before the world became dark.

—————————————————-

Drip…drip…drip…

First…the sound of an unknown liquid hitting stone floor echoed through a silent room then...

-Clang! Clang! Clang!

The high pitched sound of a jarring metallic shiver vibrating through the cold stone assaulted his ears making him snap out of his slumber to find himself sprawled face down on the ground.

Then came the voice someone shouting angrily…

"-retch! "

"-re you dead!?"

'huh what did he say…?'

Opening his eyes he was met with the sight of a disgusting looking rat moving atop his arm alongside the thick stench of air assulting his his nose.

"Eh…? Ahhh! Curses! "

Surprised he jumped to his feet and waved his arm frantically to throw the filthy rat away!

The rat ran away through the cell bars under the feet of a man that looked like a guard outside of the cell startling him.

"Fuck! its a another rat!"

The unknown man shouted.

But then the man composed himself immediately seemingly used to seeing rats in this place…

The man had an ugly face and held a metal bat in his hand and wore a light rusty set of armor with a sword shethed to his waist... he looked like a guard?

-Clang!

The guard hit the cell bars with his bat again making the annoying jarring sound of metal hitting metal assult Rei's ears before shouting with a loud voice.

"IF YOUR ALIVE SAY FROM THE FUCKING START YOU WRETCHED BRAT!"

"W-what..?"

Rei looked at the guard with a confused expression, but the guard walked away, having seemingly lost interest in the young prisoner, after confirming he isn't dead.

Rei blinked confused at the incomprehensible situation, then his eyes widened as he realized…

"Wait… I can talk…?!"

He lowered his head and looked at himself as he raised his hand to inspect them in disbelief.

"I…I have a body… I-I'm alive!?"

He muttered in a disbelieving tone as he looked at himself through a small shattered mirror he found on the ground of the cell...

He wore a tatterd piece of rag that seems like it hasn't been washed for weeks... he didn't even have shoes so he was standing on bare feet…

He had a frail young looking body with dark midnight-blue hair , and golden yellow eyes with dark circles under it, his white skin was slightly pale , and his height was lower than average making him seem younger than he actually is...

But he is certain...

"This is… This body looks exactly like my past one…"

Just then he realized something again…

"Am I in prison…?"

Raising his head he looked around the cell… It was very small and it was built with stone and had no window, the only way out is the through the closed metal bars that had a key hole in the middle.

The cell itself didn't have much inside it… There was a small sack of hay presumably his bed, and a little bucket on the corner… There was some bugs and spiders crawling through the walls and there was some rot there and there…

'In short the situation is hopeless.'

"No no wait let's not give up yet… this think a bit more!"

'oh… right there was a system right? how do i make it appear again?'

"uh… system? show my status..."

Immediately A black system window appeared in front of him as he heard the familiar voice of the system in his head talk with a flat tone…
