He reached down and ripped the dagger from Valerius's sleeve, showing it to the crowd. The blade dripped with green liquid.
"Poison," Will announced.
Governor Swann turned pale. "Poison? At my tea party?"
Elizabeth looked at Valerius, who was covered in frosting and exposed as a coward. Then she looked at Will. He stood tall, holding the sword he made, defending her honor and her safety.
The "Bardic Charm" broke instantly.
"Guard!" Governor Swann shouted. "Arrest this man! He is a pirate and an assassin!"
Valerius scrambled up, cake falling from his ears. "Wait! It is a misunderstanding! It is... a prop! For my story!"
"Tell it to the jailer," Will said, sheathing his sword.
He turned to Elizabeth. Her eyes were wide, shining with something that wasn't just friendship anymore.
"I..." Will stammered, his bravado fading as he looked at her. "I should go. I have orders to fill."
Elizabeth stepped forward and grabbed his hand. Her grip was firm. "You are not going anywhere, William Turner. Not until you have had some tea. And... maybe told me a story. A real one."
Will smiled, blushing beneath his rugged makeover. "I... I think I can do that."

Ethan arrived in a mind that was surprisingly quiet. Too quiet.
He opened his sensors.
Issei Hyoudou was sitting in the Occult Research Club (ORC) room. He was staring at the floor. He wasn't screaming. He wasn't perving out. He looked... defeated.
Across the room, Rias Gremory sat at her desk. Sitting opposite her was a man with black wings and a suit that cost more than Issei's life.
[Villain Identity: Ray (Transmigrator - Fallen Angel Lineage).][Ability: "The Dark Savior System". Offers solutions to complex political problems in exchange for loyalty/affection.][Current Situation: Ray is offering Rias a "Peace Treaty" with the Fallen Angels that would annul her engagement to Riser Phenex. The condition? She must sever ties with her "low-class" servants, specifically the Red Dragon Emperor, whom Ray claims is a "instability factor".]
"Think about it, Rias," Ray said, his voice smooth like velvet. "You don't need to fight Riser. You don't need to put your peerage in danger. I can make it all go away. Just... let the boy go. He is crude. He is weak. He embarrasses you."
Rias looked torn. She glanced at Issei. Issei didn't look up. He felt unworthy.
(Issei! Wake up!) Ethan shouted. (Why are you letting this pigeon talk about you like you are furniture?)
Issei flinched. "He is right. I am just a pervert. I cause trouble for Buchou. If she chooses him, she is safe."
(Safe? He is a Fallen Angel! He killed you in the original timeline—or at least his female counterpart did! He doesn't want to help her; he wants her power! He is isolating her. Rias doesn't want a savior who forces her to abandon her family. She wants a Dragon who fights for her!)
"But I am weak," Issei thought miserably.
(You are the Red Dragon Emperor! You have the Longinus! The only reason you are weak is because you are focused on boobs instead of power! Today, we change that. We are going to channel your "Desire" into "Domination". Trigger the Balance Breaker. Not the armor... just the aura.)
"I can't control it..."
(I will control it. System Assist: "Dragon's Pride - Override". We are going to show this Fallen Angel what a real predator looks like.)
Ethan pushed a button in the mental interface.
Issei stood up.
The atmosphere in the room changed instantly. The air grew heavy, hot, and suffocating. A red aura began to leak from Issei's body, not wild and chaotic, but dense and concentrated.
Ray stopped talking. He looked at Issei. "Oh? The pet has something to say?"
Issei lifted his head. His eyes were glowing a brilliant, toxic green.
"You talk too much," Issei said. His voice wasn't his usual high-pitched whine. It was deep, layered with a guttural growl that vibrated in everyone's chest.
[Boost.]
The gauntlet on his left hand materialized.
"Issei?" Rias whispered, feeling the shift in power. "What are you doing?"
"I am reminding him," Issei said, walking toward Ray, "that dragons do not share their treasure. And they certainly do not let pigeons dictate terms."
Ray stood up, unfurling his black wings. "You dare insult me? I am a High-Class Fallen Angel! I have the backing of Grigori!"
"I don't care," Issei said.
Ray summoned a light spear—a massive lance of holy energy. "Know your place, trash!"
He hurled the spear at Issei.
(Catch it,) Ethan commanded. (Don't dodge. Catch it.)
Issei raised his left hand.
CRACK.
Issei caught the light spear. His gauntlet hissed as the holy energy burned against it, but he didn't flinch. He squeezed.
[Divide.]
Wait, wrong dragon.
[Boost! Boost! Boost!]
Issei's power surged. He crushed the light spear in his hand, shattering it into particles of light.
"You call that power?" Issei mocked, channeling pure arrogance. "That was a flashlight."
Ray's eyes widened. "Impossible! That was a kill-shot!"
Issei vanished.
