Chapter 40 - A Farmiliar Arrival

That is all, your grace," the lady spoke as she bowed gently. Yeara smiled. As the woman walked, she dropped the book she had used for the measurement into her bag.

Yeara's eyes flicked briefly to the little girl. She still wondered what the girl had meant. She did not know why, even though her mother had laughed it off, claiming it was the little girl's imagination, fueled by the tales she read about mermaids. Yet, Yeara still felt as if the girl were telling the truth.

"Mama, are you done?" the little girl asked, standing from the stool she had been sitting on, staring as her mother packed the things. Lady Bush nodded with a smile as the girl turned to Yeara.

"Bye-bye, Queen."

Yeara smiled and stood, waving back before walking to the door. She opened it, but before she could step out, the woman spoke, her head bowed low.

"My Queen, if I may ask, how should the dress smell? What fragrance should it have?"

Yeara turned, replying softly,
