"Abyss Break!"
The pitch-black energy sphere plummeted downward.
Without any hesitation, BlackWarGreymon gathered another Dark Gaia Force and threw it with all his might.
The second collision yielded a completely different result.
The moment they collided, Jellal's dark energy sphere began to literally devour the Dark Gaia Force.
The specters tore at the data energy like starving beasts, attempting to convert it into darker, far more corrupt magic.
"It's useless," Jellal's cold and confident voice echoed from the sky. "Your darkness comes from data—pure, cold, and lifeless. My darkness comes from life. It is a collection of all negative emotions: despair, pain, hatred, and madness. In the face of raw life, data will always be inferior."
BlackWarGreymon's eyes narrowed.
"Inferior?"
A harsh, metallic growl rumbled from his throat.
Instead of shrinking, the Dark Gaia Force suddenly pulsed with a terrifying, rhythmic heartbeat.
The dark red data runes on its surface didn't dissolve; they furiously overwrote the specters.
"You think your pathetic ghosts can consume the pinnacle of dark evolution?" BlackWarGreymon roared.
"Let me show you what true destruction looks like!"
He launched himself directly into the clash!
The Brave Shield on his back locked into place as he drove his Dramon Killer claws straight into the center of the struggling energy spheres.
"ROAR—!!!"
With a heaven-shaking roar, BlackWarGreymon physically tore Jellal's Abyss Break apart.
The wailing specters were obliterated, not by magic, but by raw, overwhelming physical force and hyper-dense data.
The sky shattered as the dark magic dissolved into harmless, glittering dust.
Jellal's pupils constricted in absolute shock. "Impossible... The magical structure of Abyss Break is flawless. How could mere physical force—"
"Because you're weak."
BlackWarGreymon was already in front of him.
The Digimon had moved so fast he simply vanished and reappeared, defying all laws of aerodynamics.
Jellal instinctively cast Meteor, transforming into a streak of golden light to retreat.
But no matter how fast he flew, a massive, pitch-black shadow loomed over him.
BlackWarGreymon didn't use a special attack.
He simply swung a backhand.
BANG—!!!
Jellal was swatted out of the sky like a fly.
He crashed violently into the tower's stone floor, bouncing three times before plowing a deep trench into the magical runes.
"Cough..." Jellal spat out a mouthful of blood, his ribs definitely fractured. He looked up, his usual calm completely shattered.
"What... what kind of monster are you?"
BlackWarGreymon landed heavily, the stone cracking under his weight.
He looked down at Jelal with utter disdain.
"You speak of darkness and despair," the Dragon of Steel rumbled, slowly walking forward.
"But you hide in a tower, playing with ghosts. You know nothing of true battle."
Jellal gritted his teeth, gathering all his remaining magic power.
"Don't underestimate me! Grand Chariot!"
Seven massive magical spheres formed in the sky and plummeted toward BlackWarGreymon with the force of falling meteors.
BlackWarGreymon didn't even look up.
"Black Tornado."
He spun, but not to move.
He created a localized, hyper-dense data vortex around himself
The seven magical meteors crashed into the tornado and were instantly shredded into nothingness.
The devastating attack didn't even leave a scratch on his Chrome Digizoid armor.
"Is that it?" BlackWarGreymon stopped spinning. "Then die."
He raised his claws, dark red energy gathering for a point-blank blast.
"Wait."
Ace's voice rang out.
BlackWarGreymon froze instantly.
He turned his head, the violent aura dissipating as he awaited his order.
Ace walked over, Erza following closely behind.
He looked down at Jellal, who was embedded in the floor, panting heavily and completely defeated.
The absolute disparity in power was undeniable.
Jellal's grand plans, his eight years of scheming, meant absolutely nothing in the face of a Mega Level Digimon.
Ace looked at BlackWarGreymon.
"Good job."
BlackWarGreymon let out a low rumble of acknowledgment, crossing his arms and stepping back, though his eyes remained fixed on Jellal, ready to strike if he twitched.
Ace turned to Erza. "He is your past. You decide how to deal with him."
Erza remained silent.
She stared at Jellal's familiar yet strange face.
These were the same eyes she had once looked up to, relied on, suffered from, and deeply hated.
Eight years of history flashed through her mind.
Finally, her memories settled on the pathetic, broken figure before her.
The great mastermind, completely dismantled with ease.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
When she opened them again, the hatred and pain were gone.
Only a deep sorrow and a firm resolve remained.
"I won't kill you, Jellal," she said softly, her voice echoing in the quiet tower. "Death is too easy. You have to live. You have to use the rest of your life to atone, to make amends, and to save the people you hurt."
Jellal stared at her, his eyes wide, struggling to process his total defeat and her mercy.
Erza turned away, refusing to look at him any longer.
She walked to the edge of the platform and watched the sun slowly peek over the distant sea.
The golden morning light spilled over her scarlet hair, giving her a warm, glowing halo.
"It's over," she whispered.
Her voice was choked with emotion, but mostly filled with overwhelming relief.
"My suffering that lasted for eight years... is finally, truly over."
She turned to look at Ace.
Tears glistened in her eyes, but a bright, relieved smile spread across her face.
Suddenly, she took a step forward, threw her arms open, and hugged Ace tightly.
The embrace was forceful, as if she were using all her remaining strength to finally let go of her heavy burdens.
"Thank you, Ace." She buried her face in his shoulder, her voice muffled by quiet sobs.
"Thank you for coming with me."
Ace's body stiffened slightly, but he quickly relaxed.
He simply patted her gently on the back.
"Mm."
It was a quiet, simple response, but she understood exactly what he meant.
She let go, wiped the tears from her eyes, and let her bright smile return.
"Let's go. It's time to head back. Everyone must be waiting for us."
Ace nodded.
He glanced at Jellal one last time. "We're done here."
BlackWarGreymon let out a low rumble before transforming into a stream of dark red data and returning to Ace's body.
...
Ace and Erza made their way down the crumbling spiral staircase of the Tower of Heaven.
When they finally emerged from the dark, oppressive structure and stepped onto the sandy shore, the first rays of morning sunlight were just beginning to break over the horizon.
And they weren't alone.
"You guys took your sweet time!" a loud, familiar voice echoed across the beach.
Natsu was leaning against a large rock, his clothes singed and a bruised grin on his face.
Beside him, Gray was already shirtless, arms crossed as he tried to look cool despite the sheer exhaustion written all over his features.
Lucy was sitting on the sand, wringing out the hem of her soaked skirt with a tired but relieved sigh, while Juvia hovered close by, offering her a dry towel with a shy, tentative smile.
"Aye! We beat all the bad guys!" Happy cheered, flying over to land on Erza's shoulder.
Erza looked at her battered, bruised, but victorious comrades.
The heavy burden that had weighed down her heart for eight long years completely melted away in the warm morning light.
"Yes," Erza smiled, a bright, genuine expression that left the rest of the group momentarily stunned.
"It's finally over."
Ace walked up beside her, his hands tucked casually into his pockets.
He looked out at the sea, where the massive form of MetalSeadramon breached the surface, awaiting its master's command to take them home.
"Alright," Ace said, glancing back at the group. "Let's get out of here before Natsu remembers that riding a sea dragon counts as transportation."
"Wait, what?!" Natsu's face instantly turned a sickly shade of green. "No! I'll swim! I swear I'll swim!"
"Shut up and get on, flame-brain," Gray snorted, grabbing Natsu by the collar and dragging him toward the water.
"We're going home."
