Chapter 126 - Resonance Children

Two months after the collapse—

The reports began spreading worldwide.

At first—

People thought they were rumors.

Children hearing emotions before words.

People synchronizing resonance unintentionally during moments of fear.

Small fragment manifestations appearing around individuals with no prior exposure.

And in rare cases—

New consciousness signatures.

Not human.

Not fully fragment-based either.

Something in between.

Inside the rebuilt Ground Zero command center—

Large holographic maps filled the room.

Resonance pulses appeared across multiple countries simultaneously.

Kael looked exhausted.

More exhausted than usual.

"…The network is evolving faster every week."

Lina studied the data carefully.

"…How many confirmed cases now?"

Kael answered immediately.

"…Thirty-two."

Maxruell nearly choked on his drink.

"…THIRTY-TWO?!"

"…Confirmed," Kael repeated.

"…And probably hundreds more unreported."

Most cases involved younger individuals.

Children adapting to post-collapse resonance naturally.

Some could emotionally synchronize instinctively.

Others stabilized unstable fragments unconsciously.

A few even displayed partial Balance Resonance traits.

The world itself was changing generation by generation.

Aren sat near the edge of the room silently listening.

Unlike before—

Their physical form had stabilized completely now.

No more flickering.

No more incomplete synchronization.

But emotionally—

They still felt uncertain about themselves.

"…Are they like me?" Aren asked softly.

The room grew quieter.

Kael hesitated before answering.

"…Not exactly."

"…You were born directly from awakened resonance."

"…But they were born human first."

Aren lowered their gaze slightly.

Different again.

Lina walked over quietly.

"…That doesn't make you less real."

Aren looked toward her.

"…But I wasn't born normally."

Lina smiled faintly.

"…Neither was this world anymore."

That answer stayed with Aren longer than expected.

Outside Ground Zero—

Not everyone accepted the changes peacefully.

Fear spread alongside evolution.

Some people viewed resonance-adapted individuals as dangerous.

Others believed the Source would eventually return through them.

Small anti-resonance groups had already begun forming worldwide.

Conflict was evolving too.

Later that evening—

Juvy stood overlooking the city again with Maxruell nearby.

"…It's happening faster than we thought."

Maxruell nodded slightly.

"…People fear what they don't understand."

"…Especially after everything that happened."

Juvy crossed her arms quietly.

"…I don't want this new world becoming divided again."

Maxruell smirked faintly.

"…Too late."

She looked toward him sharply.

"…Not like that."

His expression softened slightly.

"…I know."

The next day—

Aren left the command sector alone for the first time.

Just walking through the recovering city.

Trying to understand ordinary life better.

Most people ignored them.

Some smiled unconsciously.

But eventually—

A group noticed the faint resonance fragments drifting around Aren.

And fear spread instantly.

"…Wait…"

"…That's one of them…"

Aren froze slightly.

The people backed away nervously.

"…Stay away from us…"

"…What if it loses control?"

The words hit harder than Aren expected.

Aren stepped back slowly.

"…I wasn't trying to hurt anyone…"

But the fear remained.

And for the first time—

Aren truly understood loneliness.

That night—

Aren sat alone on a rooftop overlooking the city lights.

Silent.

Juvy eventually approached quietly.

She sat beside Aren without speaking at first.

Then softly:

"…Hurts, doesn't it?"

Aren stared downward.

"…Being different."

Juvy looked toward the skyline calmly.

"…Yeah."

"…But that's why we keep choosing connection anyway."

Far beyond reality—

The Source listened silently through the resonance network.

Learning not only individuality—

But loneliness too.
