After Ewan and Asher Ryder chatted for a while, the man gathered the animal pelts and furs into a small basket in front of the house, planning to head toward the edge of the woods to wait for Wyatt. Unexpectedly, having barely taken a few steps out the door into the early morning sunlight, he spotted the silhouettes of the two brothers, Wyatt and Simon, heading this way. In his hand, Simon held a tiny wildflower freshly picked from the roadside, skipping along in a carefree and cheerful manner.
Wyatt, walking beside him, was noticeably more composed and mature. On his back, he carried a large, sturdily woven rattan mountain basket, and tucked carefully into his waistband were several small leather water pouches and a few empty cloth bags, well-prepared for the upcoming forest trek.
Spotting Asher Ryder standing ahead, Simon immediately shouted: "Asher!!!"
