Seeing this, Ewan smiled and narrowed his eyes, picking up two parcels of snails from the glowing charcoal stove. He placed them onto a fresh banana leaf and handed them to the hunter: "These are five credits a portion. Since you are our very first customer, I will give you two portions for just eight credits."
"Five credits?" The hunter's group of friends chimed in: "Damn, that is as expensive as buying a meat bun. And it does not even look half as big as the buns from that stall over there."
The intoxicated hunter froze. He had shouted out of pure craving moments ago because the aroma was phenomenal, but hearing the price tag, he felt hesitant. Yet, backing out now would be too embarrassing, and besides...
"Here, here are eight credits. This stuff is delicious, it makes for an excellent bar snack."
"Is it really that good?" His friend leaned in closer: "Let me try one."
Before the hunter could reply, his friend snatched up a snail, mimicking his posture, and took a loud slurp.
