Looking at the sniffling Deadpool, Johnny hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"Wade, are you sure you don't just want his golden Desert Eagles and his dog?"
"Bullshit!"
Wade immediately shook his head in protest.
"What kind of person do you think I am? The first day I entered the assassin business, my middleman asked me a very important question. Do you love gold, or do you love your brothers? And of course, I said I love my brothers!
But if my brother truly loved me too, he would willingly leave his two golden Desert Eagles and his dog in my care. That is only fair, right?
So you can look down on me all you want, Johnny, but do not disrespect my brother. Taking care of his weapons and his dog is clearly his final wish!"
With that, Deadpool picked up the dog and walked toward the car.
Behind him, Axel and the others exchanged glances.
Axel curled his lip slightly, unimpressed. "He is doing it on purpose, that idiot."
Even so, Axel could not help but laugh as he followed the group back to the car. Johnny slid into the driver's seat, and soon they were on their way.
Without Cassandra interfering, the atmosphere relaxed. The group joked and talked as they drove toward Johnny's hidden base.
But less than thirty minutes later, a lone figure appeared ahead, a woman standing in the distance and waving at them.
Logan narrowed his eyes as he looked through the dust. "Damn it, another one stopping cars. It is not another Cassandra, is it? Johnny, how many people like her are in the Void?"
Johnny shook his head immediately. "There is only one Cassandra. Anyone who could threaten her gets eliminated quickly after arriving here.
There are rumors that there were once multiple versions of her, but even those were hunted down and killed by her. In short, she is the strongest being the Void has produced in the past thousand years. No one else comes close."
At that moment, Johnny leaned out of the window, squinting at the approaching figure. After a brief look, he pulled his head back in with a grin.
"Relax, that is one of my people. I knew they would not last long without me. Look, I have barely been gone, and they already came looking."
He pressed down on the accelerator, driving straight toward her.
As the distance closed, Wade suddenly leaned forward, eyes wide.
"Wait… what am I looking at? Logan, there is something I never told you. The version of you in my universe is dead. He died like a legend. People cried over it.
Do you know how he died?"
Logan glanced at him, intrigued. "How?"
For once, there was genuine curiosity in his voice. Death was something he had chased for a long time but never reached.
Wade pointed toward the approaching young woman. "It was her."
Logan's expression sharpened. "So she killed me?"
His claws extended instinctively.
Before he could move further, Axel reached back and firmly grabbed his wrist.
"Do not listen to him. That girl is your daughter."
Logan froze. "My… daughter?"
Axel nodded calmly. "Her name is Laura. You can also call her X-23.
In Wade's world, you grow old. Mutants nearly disappear. Charles develops Alzheimer's and, during one episode, accidentally kills the X-Men.
After that, you and Charles go into hiding near the US-Mexico border, making a living quietly. Then you meet Laura. She is still a child at the time."
Axel glanced toward the girl again, his tone more measured now.
"You take care of her for a while. In the end, both you and Charles die protecting her. Your death inspires a lot of people and gives her a future."
Logan's expression shifted, something deeper flickering in his eyes.
"…And her?" he asked quietly.
"She survives," Axel replied. "She grows up."
Logan said nothing more, but his gaze remained fixed on her.
The car finally slowed as Laura reached them. Without hesitation, she opened the back door and climbed in, squeezing in beside Logan.
Deadpool, pressed against the window, groaned. "Seriously? Do you need that much space? I am getting crushed over here!"
In response, Laura's claws snapped out instantly.
Before Wade could react, her claws shot forward and stabbed straight through his head.
The movement was fast, precise, and completely without hesitation.
Logan watched her closely. The cold expression, the efficiency, it all felt familiar.
For a moment, he said nothing, caught in a quiet storm of thoughts.
Up front, Johnny spoke casually as he restarted the car.
"That is Laura. She is part of my team here in the Void. She and Elektra are already in. The last two spots are still open."
He glanced back briefly.
"Oh, right. Laura, that is Wade. And that is Logan. You should know them. As for the guy in the passenger seat, that is Axel. You can call him Axel… or Boss."
Johnny's tone turned serious for once.
"I know you have a temper. You have proven that many times. But do not aim it at him. He is different.
He is the one who defeated Cassandra. The one even Alioth could not take. Around here, that makes him something close to a savior."
The car fell briefly silent after that.
Laura looked directly at Axel.
