Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: Not A Single One Will Be Spared

Uncle Iks knelt on the ground, trembling. The Thief checked the money bag Uncle Iks gave him and counted how many Karat Coins there were. After counting, he realized it was very little! Only 412 silver coins.

"I'm telling you, are you looking down on me?! Only this many Karat Coins? Do you think I'm a beggar! You wouldn't happen to be hiding more Karat Coins, would you!" Jelas said furiously.

"I apologize, sir, I've given you all the Karat Coins. Please, spare me!" Uncle Iks said fearfully.

Seeing that Iks's fearful appearance didn't seem fake, Jelas turned his attention to the inside of the carriage. That brat named Illustrious had at least 25 gold coins in her money bag.

So Jelas smirked and said, "If you don't have it, the people inside do! That brat named Illustrious inside has a large amount of gold coins!"

Hearing that the Thief intended to target the children inside, Uncle Iks grabbed Jelas's thigh, trying to stop him. "Sir! They are just children from the village! They don't have many Karat Coins on them! Even if they took everything out, it would only be a few copper coins! You must be mistaken! Please be merciful and let those children go!"

Jelas kicked away Uncle Iks, who was holding his leg, and snapped, "Stop shaking! I don't need you telling me what to do. You've already given me the money; now you have no use. Since you were so obedient, I'll let you die quickly!"

Seeing that Jelas had already taken his money yet still intended to kill him, Uncle Iks said, shocked and angry, "How can you be like this! You already took my money, why do you still want to kill me! Do you have to be so ruthless!"

Hearing Iks's words, Jelas said contemptuously, "Did I say I wouldn't kill you if I received the money? No, I didn't! So that's fine! You are an eyesore, now go die!"

"You, you are shameless! I won't let you go even if I become a ghost." Uncle Iks said tragically and indignantly.

"Don't worry! Even if you become a ghost, you'll just be a useless, pathetic ghost, and I'm not afraid at all! I'll purify you then, ha ha ha." Jelas laughed sinisterly.

Jelas raised his great saber, circulating the magic power within his body. The saber burst forth with blue light and fiercely chopped down towards Uncle Iks. The might of this strike was terrifying, as if it could split a massive boulder in two.

Staring at such a terrifying strike, Iks felt despair in his heart. If this saber hit him, he would surely die. "I'm sorry, Wife. I might not be able to take care of you anymore! Poor my child, losing their father at only three years old!"

"Clang!" Just as the great saber was about to strike Uncle Iks, a white figure saved him. This white figure, holding a single-handed sword, clashed against Jelas's great saber. A deep impact sound exploded from the point of contact, and a ripple of powerful energy that caused the surrounding space to fluctuate surged out from the collision, spreading in all directions.

"You're Illustrious! You really surprise me! I didn't expect you to be a Professional! No wonder you were able to block that strike!" Jelas said in astonishment upon seeing that the person who blocked his attack was Illustrious.

"You know me? Who are you, and how do you know I have a large amount of gold coins? Judging by your tone, you came here specifically for me!" Illustrious asked suspiciously while continuing to block the saber.

"You can only blame yourself! Don't you know the saying, 'Wealth should not be flaunted'?" Jelas chuckled and swung his saber at Illustrious a few more times.

While deflecting Jelas's slashes, Illustrious racked her brain for who could have hired a Thief to rob them. Money draws trouble; she had only flashed her purse once—inside that slave shop. Could it be the fat shopkeeper? Damn him—if she lived through this she would make sure he died screaming.

"From the look on your face, you've guessed who paid me to take your coin!" With that, Jelas charged, sweeping his greatsword high and bringing it down in a murderous arc.

Clang! Illustrious barely caught the blow; her delicate face tightened. The strike was so heavy she nearly lost her grip. "If I tell the South-Moon Knights, your slaver friend will be arrested—and he'll sell you out."

Seeing her still on her feet, Jelas pressed the blade harder. "So what? I told you because I never planned to let you leave. Dead girls don't talk."

"Hah—then do your worst!" Illustrious shoved back with all her might.

"Wha—why am I still alive? Illustrious, you saved me? Wait, that glow… you're a Professional!" Uncle Iks stared, wide-eyed, at the mana shimmering along her sword.

Clang! Gripping her one-handed sword, Illustrious forced Jelas back several steps. "Doesn't matter, Uncle Iks—get clear before you're hurt!"

"Right, right—go get him, Illustrious! Oh no, he's coming—gotta run!" Iks bolted from the danger zone.

"You can't even protect yourself, yet you fuss over others—how little you think of me!" Jelas roared, rushing at her again.

Clang—boom! A horizontal cut, every ounce of his strength behind it. "I meant to keep you in one piece for later, but if you insist on resisting, I'll finish you now!"

Illustrious blocked with everything she had, but the impact sent her slight body flying six metres through the air.

Coughing, she planted her blade and rose, leveling it at him, defiance blazing in her eyes.

"Play with my body?" she spat, cheeks flushed with rage and shame. "I'm only six—you'd do that to a child? You're worse than an animal!"

Jelas licked his lips. "Six is perfect—loli's the best: light, soft, easy to break. Their struggling faces thrill me."

"Never!" Illustrious tightened her grip. She could not lose—not to this.

He drooled at the sight of her. "Don't worry—after you, the four little ones in the carriage are next."
