Rebecca had a real way with people, I would give her that without question. But I had my own particular gift when it came to getting completely under her skin, and she knew it very well.
Cameron turned and looked at me like I had personally offended every single branch of her bloodline. "It seems Ms. Stovall has finally learned to carry herself like she actually belongs to the family name now."
I laughed softly. "I'm sure Ms. Larson carries herself just as well."
"Don't flatter yourself. You were a nobody who got lucky enough to be taken in by a powerful family. Do you honestly believe that makes you one of them?"
I smiled without flinching. "You're absolutely right. I came from nothing and I own that completely. But here's the thing about a woman with no real class. No amount of money ever changes what she truly is underneath all of it. Wouldn't you agree, Ms. Anderson?"
