Chapter 158 - Chapter 153: The Stolen Notebook and the Cryptic Promise

"You bastard! Feel free to seal your sinful body inside a cement barrel and drown in Tokyo Bay!" Shirai Kuroko was absolutely furious, violently hurling a pair of silver Judgment handcuffs directly at Takahashi Yuuya's head.

'Yuuya...' Index pouted and grumbled in dissatisfaction, glaring at the scene. 'Yuuya is acting like that towards that girl again. Does he actually like that girl?'

Yuuya smoothly caught the heavy handcuffs that Kuroko threw at him, dropping his shirt back down as he did so. "You actually threw official Judgment handcuffs at my face? This is hardly the professional behavior of a Disciplinary Committee member."

"You ape-like delinquent, I am arresting you for severe indecent assault right this instant!" Kuroko's face was beet-red with anger. How dare he do such a shameless thing to her Onee-sama right in front of her! He deserved to be struck down by divine retribution!

"Alright, alright, I admit I went a bit too far with the joke, but you can forget about arresting me," Yuuya said with amusement as he looked at the furious teleporter. "Besides, considering your own daily habits, I think you're the one most suited for the title of 'pervert.' I wouldn't dare compete with you for that throne."

"You... you're as infuriating as ever! If I could beat you, I would definitely... I would absolutely...!" Misaka Mikoto blushed furiously, gritting her teeth as she glared at Yuuya. Her hands were clenched into tight fists, desperately wanting to smash this hateful guy into the pavement.

'Even though this guy isn't strictly a bad person, his personality is far too wicked and capricious,' Mikoto thought in frustration. 'It's impossible to guess what he's planning. It's like he just does whatever he wants for his own twisted amusement. If this were a comic book, this guy would definitely be a major villain!'

"You'd absolutely what?" Yuuya asked with a teasing smile, perking up his ears.

"I'm going to electrocute you into a twitching roasted frog! A roasted frog, definitely! You're just a high school student, only slightly higher ranked than me, yet you dare to be so arrogant and bully me! You despicable bastard! You despicable bastard!" Mikoto glared at Yuuya with eyes full of angry tears, her shouting turning into muttered grumbling at the end.

'I used to be the one on top of the food chain, but now he's the one bullying me, and I have absolutely no power to fight back,' she realized bitterly. 'From the very first time we met, this guy has been picking on me. What exactly is his problem?!'

Listening to Mikoto's rambling made Yuuya feel a slight twinge of guilt. 'Well,' he admitted to himself, 'I really just wanted to tease her for some fun, but it seems I might have pushed the Railgun a little too far this time.'

"Misaka, is it really that strange that I would bully you?" Yuuya's lips curled up slightly, and a calculating glint flickered in his eyes.

"You're just a despicable scoundrel! Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you have a higher Level!" Mikoto said, glaring at him with a righteous expression.

"I'm sorry to break it to you, Misaka, but having absolute power really does mean you can do whatever you want in this city." Yuuya chuckled, and his smile turned cryptic. "However... you'll find out exactly why I tease you soon enough. I honestly can't wait to see the day you fall into my arms and cry tears of joy."

Giving a dismissive wave, Yuuya strolled away leisurely with Index by his side, leaving the two Tokiwadai girls standing by the police tape.

"Hmph! Babbling the exact same baffling nonsense again!" Mikoto stomped her foot angrily. 'But why does he single me out to pick on?!'

'If it only happened once or twice, it could be explained as a coincidence,' Mikoto thought, her brow furrowing. 'But if he goes out of his way to do it every single time we meet, there's definitely something wrong with his head. And what was with that cryptic nonsense about me falling into his arms?! As if!'

"Ugh, I'm so angry!" Mikoto furiously marched up to the brand-new vending machine outside the convenience store. BAM! She unleashed her signature 45-degree diagonal kick against the coin slot.

"That jerk! He's so infuriating! He looks down on me and bullies me for absolutely no reason! Damn it, I'm so angry!"

Kuroko was startled by the violent outburst, quickly wiping a drop of cold sweat from her forehead.

'It seems Onee-sama really doesn't like that ape, and genuinely hates him...' Kuroko thought, feeling a wave of relief. 'But wait...'

Suddenly, Kuroko was a little confused. 'If she hates him so much, why does Onee-sama keep coincidentally running into him? The first time they met, they even ate at a buffet together and she willingly fed him! My mind is in a complete mess!'

Kuroko quickly shook off her spiraling thoughts and focused on reality. "Onee-sama, wait! If you kick that vending machine and break it, it's going to trigger the anti-theft alarm!"

WEE-WOO-WEE-WOO—!

The moment Kuroko finished speaking, the blaring security siren was activated.

"Yikes! Let's go!"

Kuroko grabbed the bewildered Mikoto and instantly teleported them away from the scene.

Two Blocks Away

"Huh! The one I kicked yesterday didn't have a loud alarm like that!" Mikoto said, puzzled as they landed in a quiet alleyway.

Kuroko covered her forehead with one hand and sighed. "Onee-sama, the one you completely destroyed yesterday was replaced with a brand-new, upgraded model this morning."

"Oh! I see. That explains why my exact angle couldn't force it to drop a free drink," Mikoto nodded, sporting an expression that said, Just as I expected.

"Anyway, Onee-sama, let's just forget about that ape and what happened earlier," Kuroko said ingratiatingly, trying to lift Mikoto's spirits.

"You're right. That guy is just infuriating. He did something so shameless and didn't even give a proper apology." A spark of blue electricity flashed on Mikoto's forehead, and a large tic mark pulsed on her cheek. She took a deep breath to calm her racing heart. "However, dwelling on it won't help. We should do something else to take our minds off it."

"What's on the schedule? How about we go to the arcade?"

"The arcade sounds good. But actually, I have a favor to ask you."

"Well, there is a Junior in Judgment who deeply admires you and has been begging to meet you, even if just for a moment," Kuroko explained hesitantly. "She is my partner from the 177th Branch and a massive supporter of yours. Considering she was the one who illegally bypassed the Data Bank security to look up that ape's classified files for us last time, it's very difficult for me to refuse her request."

Mikoto blinked. She was usually tired of fans pestering her, but hearing that it was the hacker who had actively helped them, she suddenly realized who Kuroko meant. "Oh! It's her—the partner you mentioned before! Uiharu-san, right?"

"Yes, Onee-sama. If you find it too troublesome to meet her today, I actually planned out an alternate, private schedule for us last night..." Kuroko said seriously. She patted her Judgment armband and felt around her pockets for her notebook, but then she completely froze.

"Hey... by 'itinerary,' you don't happen to mean this little notebook, do you?"

Mikoto's brown eyes narrowed dangerously. She slowly pulled a highly suspicious pink notebook out of her shorts pocket and waved it menacingly in front of Kuroko's face.

"Uh... that little notebook..." Kuroko's expression shattered. Her lips twitched slightly, and cold sweat began pouring down her forehead in terror.

'Oh no! Why is my classified diary in Onee-sama's hands?!' Kuroko screamed internally. 'This is a disaster! Those files contain dozens of my highly detailed "Onee-sama Night Assault" strategy plans!'
