Chapter 46 - chapter 46

(Sucy's POV)

"Ouch… my head hurts," Minju groaned as she slowly sat up.

I stared at her.

She looked at me like I was a ghost.

"Yah!" I flicked her forehead lightly.

"What happened?" she asked, holding her head.

"Everything happened."

Her eyes widened.

"Oh no… what did I say?"

She fell back onto the bed dramatically.

I crossed my arms.

"You confessed."

Silence.

She slowly turned her head toward me.

"To… who?"

I just stared.

Her eyes grew bigger.

"No. No. No. No."

"Yes."

She screamed into the pillow.

******

My phone buzzed again.

99+ messages.

20 missed calls.

From Yoongi.

Minju peeked at my screen.

"Who is that?"

"Yoongi."

She looked at me carefully.

"What happened between you two?"

I sighed.

"His dad caught us. He wants to send him abroad."

Her expression changed.

."And Jimin? You don't like him?"

"I like him… but as a friend. Nothing more."

She smiled softly.

But her eyes were different.

Like she didn't fully believe me.

We decided to go out.

Somewhere fun.

No drama.

Just girls' day.

Her mom dropped us at a busy shopping street.

We entered a photo booth shop.

Colorful lights Sticker machines.

Cute accessories

Minju was choosing outfits from the rack.

She picked a soft baby pink cardigan and a white pleated skirt.

Her hair was tied half-up with a small ribbon.

She looked like a quiet rich girl from a drama.

I wore a light blue off-shoulder top and high-waisted jeans.

Simple but cute.

We entered the booth.

"Ready? 1… 2… 3!"

We posed.

Peace sign.

Heart pose.

Funny face.

Minju slowly started smiling more naturally.

Then...

The curtain suddenly opened.

"Yah. You didn't invite me?"

We both jumped.

Jimin.

He was wearing a loose white shirt tucked into black jeans.

Sleeves slightly rolled up.

Hair softly parted.

He looked like he walked out of a magazine.

Minju froze.

Her entire body stiff.

"I....I didn't know you were coming," she stuttered.

He stepped inside anyway.

The booth was small.

Very small.

Now it was crowded.

Minju looked uncomfortable.

I noticed it.

Before she could move away...

Jimin gently pulled both of us closer.

His arm naturally around our shoulders.

"Smile," he said softly.

Minju's breath hitched.

The camera flashed.

He looked at the preview screen.

"Wait, one more."

He lightly dragged Minju's chin upward with his finger.

"Look at the camera properly."

Her face turned red.

I couldn't stop smiling watching them.

Click.

The final photo printed out.

Three of us.

But the way he was looking at Minju…

It wasn't the same as how he looked at me.

He shared the photo to our group chat.

Caption:

"Chaos trio."

Minju stared at the picture like it was treasure.

After Photo Booth

We walked around the street.

Street food.

We walked around after.

Street food first.

"Spicy rice cake?" I asked.

"Yes."

"No," Minju said at the same time.

We stared at her.

"I mean… yes."

We ordered anyway.

She took one bite.

Instant regret.

"Water."

Jimin pushed his cup toward her without thinking.

"Drink."

She blinked at him.

"You don't want?"

"hmm.."

I watched them quietly

Arcade games.

At the arcade, Jimin insisted on playing basketball machine.

He removed his jacket.

Minju's eyes followed him.

He started shooting.

Swish.

Swish.

Swish.

He looked so focused.

Minju clapped quietly every time he scored.

Suddenly...

He missed.

The ball bounced back and hit his hand hard.

"Ouch."

I walked closer.

But Minju was faster.

She grabbed his hand gently.

"Are you okay?"

Her voice was shaking.

He looked at her.

"Yeah. It's nothing."

But she didn't let go.

She blew softly on his knuckles like a child.

My heart squeezed a little.

Because in that moment..

He didn't look at me.

He was looking at her.

Soft.

Different.

********

We sat on a bench eating ice cream.

"So," Jimin said casually.

"Are you two coming to the school ball?"

"Maybe," I answered.

Minju stayed quiet.

He looked at her.

"What about you?"

"I don't know," she said quickly.

"Maybe I won't go."

"Why?"

"No reason."

I kicked her lightly.

"She'll go."

She glared at me.

He nodded slowly.

"Good."

Then his phone buzzed.

He checked it.

His expression changed slightly.

"Everything okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. Just home stuff."

He stood up.

"I'll head back first."

"Already?" I asked.

"Yeah."

He looked at Minju briefly.

"Don't drink too much again."

She froze.

"I won't."

He walked away.

Minju stared at his back until he disappeared.

"You're obvious," I said.

She looked at me.

"Am I?"

"Yes."

She looked down at her melting ice cream.

"…Does he look at me differently?"

I didn't answer immediately.

Because honestly…

I wasn't sure anymore.

"Do you think he will invite me to the Ball?"

"Of course!."
