Victor's POV
The convoy had been on the road for nearly an hour when the familiar landscape surrounding Ashbourne territory gradually gave way to the busier outskirts of Nightfall City. Victor remained seated in the back of the SUV, one arm resting against the door as he watched the scenery change through the tinted window.
The quiet roads they had traveled earlier were now replaced by wider streets, commercial buildings, residential districts, and the steady movement of vehicles belonging to the many packs that operated within Nightfall territory.
Although he had spent most of the journey trying to determine why Kade Nightshade had come to this part of the kingdom, Victor had deliberately avoided settling on any particular explanation.
