I winced. I knew she was a normal human until a couple of days ago, but seeing it on paper was brutal. Level 5. Yuma hadn't just killed her; it was a total slaughter.

Akeno leaned over, placing a porcelain teacup in front of me. Isa took hers and drank it instantly, but I held back. I discreetly cast Observe on the liquid. You don't survive Skyrim by eating and drinking random things given to you by enemies.

Item: Black Tea (Made by Akeno)

Grade: A+

Description: A perfectly brewed tea. Restores minor fatigue and slightly improves the drinker's mood.

Safe. I took a sip. The aroma was genuinely astounding, easily the best tea I'd ever had. I made a mental note that Observe could grade crafted items, a useful mechanic for when I leveled up my own crafting skills.

The side door clicked open. Rias stepped out into the clubroom, a towel draped over her shoulders as she dried her wet crimson hair.

"I know it's terribly rude to host like this," Rias said, her eyes sweeping over us. "But I simply didn't have time to wash up after dropping by your place, Isa."

"N-no, it's totally fine!" Isa stammered, blushing heavily.

Rias smiled, then shifted her cyan gaze to me. "I didn't think you would actually come, Shiro. What changed your mind? Did you finally see the light?" she asked, a teasing, almost arrogant edge to her voice.

I placed my teacup gently onto the saucer. "You used Isa to ask me. You knew perfectly well I couldn't say no to her after what she just went through."

Rias's smirk faltered for a fraction of a second, but she quickly recovered, taking a seat behind her grand desk.

For the next twenty minutes, Rias broke the world down for Isabella. She explained the hidden reality of the Three Factions: the Devils, the Angels, and the Fallen Angels. She detailed the ancient war, the current stalemate, and finally, the concept of Sacred Gears, powerful artifacts locked within the souls of certain humans.

"So..." Isa muttered, rubbing her forehead as she processed the massive info dump. "That's the reason why Yuma killed me? Because I have one of these Sacred Gears inside me?"

Rias nodded. "Precisely."

"But wait," Isa said, her brow furrowing in confusion. "If she killed me... how am I sitting here right now? How do you explain that?"

"I gave up all eight of my Pawn pieces so you could come back to life," Rias said, her tone carrying a mix of pride and gentle authority. "But there is one more thing you need to understand, Isa. Anyone who is reincarnated by a Devil... becomes a Devil themselves."

Isa's eyes widened. Before she could even process the words, a pair of leathery, bat-like wings materialized from Rias's back. As if on cue, Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko let their own wings unfurl.

Isa gasped, stumbling back a step. A second later, a sharp pulling sensation tugged at her own shoulder blades. Two small, black wings popped out of her back, tearing slightly through her school uniform shirt.

"You have been given a gift, Isa," Rias continued, her cyan eyes gleaming. "The power that drew the Fallen Angel to you is still inside you. Would you like to try and awaken it?"

Isa nodded nervously. Rias stepped forward and instructed her to focus her energy on her left arm, to picture the power manifesting. Isa closed her eyes, her face scrunching up in intense concentration. She stood there for a full minute, trembling slightly, but nothing happened.

I let out a quiet sigh and stepped up beside her. I could see her stats fluctuating; her low Wisdom and Intelligence were making it impossible for her to consciously grasp her own aura.

I needed to give her a push. Under my breath, I whispered the incantation for [Courage].

I placed my hand firmly on her shoulder. The spell flared invisibly, pumping a surge of stamina and mental fortitude directly into her system.

"Stop trying to force it," I said quietly, keeping my hand on her shoulder. "Just breathe. Pretend you're putting your hand into a heavy, metal glove. Focus on the weight of it."

Isa took a deep breath, visibly relaxing under the effects of the spell. She opened her eyes, focusing entirely on her left hand.

A pulse of crimson energy erupted in the clubroom.

With a sharp metallic clank, a massive red gauntlet materialized over Isa's left arm, complete with golden spikes and a glowing, emerald-green jewel resting on the back of her hand.

Rias raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed. "Well done. It usually takes newly reincarnated Devils weeks to consciously manifest their Sacred Gear."

Isa looked ecstatic, holding the heavy gauntlet up to the light. She had a million questions practically bursting from her lips, but Rias held up a hand to silence her.

The crimson-haired heiress slowly turned her gaze toward me. The polite, welcoming aura vanished, replaced by a calculating, predatory stare.

"So, we've focused enough on Isa," Rias said, a confident smirk touching her lips. "What about you, Shiro? Why don't you show us your Sacred Gear? I must admit, I'm quite surprised. It's not often a human awakens their gear and figures out how to use it to such a lethal degree without any outside help."

Isa blinked, looking between us. "Wait, Shiro has a Sacred Gear too? But... you said he wasn't a Devil?"

"He's not," Rias said, keeping her eyes locked on me. "He's human. But he's been hiding his power this entire time."

For a second, the room was dead silent.

Then, I couldn't help it. A short, genuine laugh escaped my lips. I covered my mouth, shaking my head as the chuckle grew into a full laugh.

Rias's smirk faltered. Her brow furrowed in irritation. "I don't see what's so funny. How else do you explain how you became so strong overnight?"

I let the laugh die down, wiping a tear from my eye. I looked at Rias, my expression hardening into a deadpan stare.

"Why don't you tell me, Rias?" I asked, casually gesturing toward the white-haired girl sitting on the sofa. "You're the one who's had Koneko stalking me twenty-four-seven since Monday."
