I grabbed a towel, took a quick, scalding shower to wake my muscles up, and threw on my school uniform. As I was walking down the stairs, I could hear voices coming from the living room.

"Rias, you really didn't have to do all this so fast!"

"Nonsense, Isa. It's the least I could do after everything that happened. Besides, it's best to have her integrated into our territory as quickly as possible."

I stepped off the landing. Rias and Isa were sitting at the dining table, looking over a stack of official-looking documents. I didn't see Asia anywhere.

"Good morning, girls," I said, rubbing the back of my neck. "Where is Asia?"

As if on cue, the soft padding of footsteps came from the top of the stairs.

I looked up. Asia was walking down the steps, holding my spectral puppy in her arms like a stuffed animal. But what caught my attention was what she was wearing. She wasn't in her ripped nun's habit anymore. She was wearing a perfectly fitted Kuoh Academy girls' uniform.

"Wow, Asia," I said, genuinely surprised. "You look great. But why are you wearing a Kuoh uniform?"

Asia blushed brightly, hugging the puppy a little tighter. "Thank you for the compliment, Shiro. But... um..."

"Rias already did all the paperwork for Asia to transfer to Kuoh Academy!" Isa burst out, practically vibrating with excitement. "Isn't that so cool? We're all going to go to school together!"

I just raised an eyebrow, looking over at Rias with a knowing, slightly smug expression.

You would think she'd give the poor girl at least one day to process the fact that she was almost murdered, I thought. But honestly? It was incredibly convenient. It kept Asia close, and it meant I didn't have to forge an identity for her or deal with the Japanese school board myself.

"Thank you, Rias," I said, walking into the kitchen. "I suppose this is what you meant when you said you had a surprise for me when you dropped by earlier."

Rias actually flushed slightly, clearing her throat and sitting up straighter. "D-Don't be silly. That was only half of the gift."

She reached into her designer school bag, pulled out an old, heavily worn leather-bound book, and held it out to me.

I walked over and took it. Before I could even ask what it was, the familiar blue screen materialized in my vision.

[Spell Tome: Beginner's Demonic Grimoire]

Contains the basics for:

- Fire

- Earth

- Water

- Air

- Lightning

- Dark

Description:The baseline magic of this world. Unlike Skyrim magic, which relies on innate mana manipulation, this magic utilizes complex summoning circles to alter reality. Can be improved with higher-grade tomes.

[Do you wish to learn this spellbook?]

[Yes / No]

I immediately tapped [No].

Having the book literally dissolve into light and vanish right in front of Rias, Isa, and Asia would be entirely impossible to explain without revealing the System. I just tucked the heavy book under my arm.

"Thanks," I said smoothly.

"I have dozens of beginner grimoires like that in the old clubroom storage," Rias said, her confident smile returning. "You can keep that one. I noticed you seem to have a profound affinity for Lightning magic, so I thought it might help you refine your output. Knock yourself out."

Isa and Asia both looked at the old book with intense curiosity, clearly wanting to see how magic was actually learned. I just kept my eyes on Rias. Her smile was completely honest. She wasn't trying to trick me; she was genuinely trying to build goodwill.

So she doesn't have an underhanded motive for this one, I thought. Good.

Before the silence could stretch, a loud, undeniable grumble echoed through the room.

Isa slapped her hands over her stomach, her face turning bright red in absolute shame. A second later, a much softer, more polite rumble came from Asia. The blonde girl immediately looked at the floor, mortified.

I couldn't help it. I burst out laughing.

"Alright, alright," I chuckled, walking over to the fridge. "I'll make some breakfast while you girls set the table. Sound good?"

They all nodded eagerly.

I pulled out a carton of eggs, a block of cheese, and some smoked ham. Thanks to my [Basic Cooking and Recipes: Lv 2] skill, I didn't even have to think about the measurements. My hands moved with practiced efficiency. I cracked the eggs into a bowl, whisked them rapidly, and tossed the diced ham and cheese into a sizzling frying pan. While the omelettes were cooking, I grabbed a cutting board and quickly chopped up some apples, bananas, and strawberries, tossing them into a large bowl for a fresh fruit salad.

Within fifteen minutes, I had plated six perfect, golden-brown omelettes, one for each of us, plus two extras for whoever was still hungry, and set them on the dining table alongside the fruit.

"Whoa," Isa breathed, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the spread. "This looks amazing!"

"Thank you for the meal," Asia said softly, clasping her hands together in a quick prayer before picking up her fork.

The girls dug in. The look of pure, blissful satisfaction on their faces was all the thanks I needed. Even Rias looked incredibly impressed as she took a polite bite, her eyes widening slightly at the quality.

We were about halfway through breakfast when I decided it was time to address the elephant in my inventory.

"Hey, Rias," I said, setting my fork down.

She paused, delicately dabbing her mouth with a napkin, and looked at me. "Yes?"

"Has there ever been a Sacred Gear known as the 'Lightning Dragon'?"

I asked it directly. I needed to know the lore before I committed to equipping the ring, especially since I had absolutely no memory of anything like that existing in the original anime canon.

Rias slowly lowered her napkin. Her cyan eyes turned sharp, analytical. "Is there a specific reason why you are asking?"

I leaned forward, keeping my face entirely serious, and spun a believable lie.

"I had a weird dream last night," I lied smoothly. "I saw this massive dragon... it was covered in crackling purple lightning, flying right over my head. It acted like a shield, blocking some kind of magical attack aimed at me. And before I woke up, it said something to me about a Sacred Gear."

I looked at her, entirely deadpan. "So, has there ever been a dragon with that kind of power? Or a person who wielded a Sacred Gear like that?"

Rias went perfectly still. She looked at me for a long, heavy moment before giving a slow, serious nod.

"Yes," Rias said softly. "Of course. However... the story is not nearly as well-known as the legends of the Red Dragon Emperor or the White Dragon Emperor."

She took a sip of her water, gathering her thoughts, before slipping into the tone of a historian.

"A long time ago, the Red and White Dragons fought a battle so catastrophic it interrupted the Great War between the Three Factions. They were incredibly powerful, and highly respected for their raw, destructive strength. But..." Rias paused, her eyes gaining a distant look. "They were not the only dragons of that caliber. There were three others who demanded just as much respect from the ancient world."

"The Ice Dragon of the North. The Earth Dragon of the South. And finally... the Lightning Dragon, often simply called the Purple Dragon."

Isa and Asia completely stopped eating, captivated by the story. I just listened intently, absorbing the lore.

"Unlike the Winter Dragon and the Earth Dragon, who were considered equals in raw physical power to the Red and White, the Purple Dragon was entirely different," Rias continued. "He was considered the smartest, and by far the most dangerous of them all. Legend says that when the God of the Bible cast the spell to seal the great dragons into Sacred Gears, the Purple Dragon was the only one intelligent enough, and fast enough, to actively defend himself against the divine magic."

My eyes widened slightly. He deflected God's sealing magic?

"Because he resisted the seal, he remained free," Rias explained. "There is a rumor in the Underworld that says, much later in the Great War, the Purple Dragon actually came to God's aid and fought alongside Heaven. God was so grateful that He told the dragon he could have whatever he desired. The dragon looked at the battlefield, saw that he was the last of his kind, and asked God to seal him into a Sacred Gear just like his brethren."

Rias leaned forward, her gaze locking onto mine.

"However, unlike the Red or White Dragons, who attach themselves to random human souls based on vague criteria, the Purple Dragon made a specific demand. He requested that he be allowed to consciously choose his own wielder."

"God agreed," Rias said softly. "Throughout all of human history, there have only ever been four people that the Lightning Dragon deemed worthy enough to partner with. The first was the great warrior king of Sparta, Leonidas."

My breath hitched. Sacred Gear Lightning Dragon: Leonidas. The name made sense now.

"Only three others have ever wielded him since," Rias concluded, listing the names off on her fingers. "Julius Caesar. Alexander the Great. And Leonardo Da Vinci."

I stared at her, completely astonished.

Was this actually real? Was the heavy, jagged purple ring currently sitting in my inventory actually housing a mythical dragon that had empowered conquerors and geniuses?

Suddenly, a thought struck me.
