"It came just in time. I was about to eat anyway."
When Esdeath saw the approaching monsters, she casually tossed aside the bamboo skewer in her hand with a light smile and walked straight toward the incoming horde.
Kanae and Saeko said nothing. They simply wiped the oil from their hands and mouths in a calm, practiced motion, then picked up their weapons and followed right behind her without hesitation.
"Be careful," Noa reminded them casually.
With a slight wave of his hand, he erected a barrier around the barbecue area, isolating the cooking space from the battlefield. The flickering flames and sizzling skewers remained untouched, safely separated from the incoming chaos. After that, he calmly returned to grilling as if nothing important had happened.
The others also remained relaxed. None of them showed any urgency. To them, the monster attack felt more like background noise than a real threat—almost like a side performance accompanying the meal.
Eris, however, frowned slightly.
"Is this really okay? What if they get hurt?" she asked, unable to fully suppress her concern.
From her perspective, it was hard to understand their level of calm. No matter how strong they were, they were still facing a group of monsters at once. Normal adventurers would never treat such a situation so lightly.
"It's fine," Hephaestus replied casually without even turning her head. "Just watch. They can handle it themselves."
The confidence in her voice made Eris pause.
It wasn't just reassurance—it sounded absolute.
Do they have something I'm not seeing? she wondered.
Curiosity overtook her concern, and she shifted her gaze toward the battlefield.
At that moment, Kanae made her move first.
She quickly cast a buff over herself and Esdeath. A faint glow spread across their bodies, followed by a soft surge of energy flowing through their forms. Almost immediately after, light erupted from their wrists, and the glow expanded outward before condensing into armor.
In seconds, the transformation was complete.
All three stood clad in identical biological armor—sleek, integrated, and clearly designed for both protection and mobility. Though the structure was the same, each suit reflected the wearer's personality through its color scheme.
Noa had personally customized them after consulting the girls.
Saeko's armor remained in its original black-and-purple tone, matching her preference and requiring no alteration. It gave her a sharp, restrained appearance, emphasizing efficiency and precision.
Esdeath's armor, however, was strikingly different. It was primarily white, accented with deep blue edges. The patterns and mask carried the same blue tone, giving her an icy, commanding presence that matched her personality perfectly.
Kanae's armor leaned in a softer direction. It used white as a base as well, but blended gradient accents of pink and emerald green. The result was a gentle yet vibrant appearance, balancing elegance with practicality.
This was the first time the biological armor was deployed in real combat.
As a result, Noa diverted part of his attention away from the barbecue and toward the battlefield. While still flipping skewers with one hand, his eyes briefly analyzed the performance of the armor systems and their real-time synchronization with the users.
The monsters rushed in.
Esdeath moved first, stepping forward with confidence as the ground beneath her cracked slightly. Kanae followed with coordinated support, continuously maintaining buffs, while Saeko shifted into position with precise sword movements.
The armor responded instantly to their actions—no delay, no instability, only smooth reinforcement of strength, speed, and defense.
Noa observed quietly.
Stable output. No overload. Good responsiveness.
The system was working better than expected in real combat conditions.
Behind him, the barbecue continued to sizzle peacefully, the contrast between the calm meal and the unfolding battle creating an almost surreal atmosphere.
Eris, still watching, slowly realized something.
This wasn't recklessness.
It was confidence built on absolute preparation.
