I stood at the window, cigarette pinched between my fingers, the ember glowing like a distant streetlamp in the thick night haze. Smoke curled into the humid air as the call rang—once, twice—then connected.
"Hello, baby. Miss this handsome face?" Percy beamed.
"No, bro. Never."
"What? I'm hurt."
"Tss. Percy, I want to tell you something important." My voice dropped to that if-you-don't-stop-I'll-kill-you tone.
"What is it?" His teasing faded, replaced by sharp attention.
I took a deep breath, exhaling smoke toward the shadowed city below.
"Section E is acting strange. Especially Keifer and Ci-N."
"Strange how?"
"They're suddenly trying to get along—like they want me in. But it's off. Ci-N's digging into my past. Keifer's… I don't know, creepy. Like they're all possessed."
"What do we do?"
I smirked, my plan already sharpening in my mind.
"Plant a spy in their group."
"WHAT? You serious? They're fucking loyal!"
"I know. That's why we use the one who's a bit against their king."
"Someone like that even exist?" Percy sounded doubtful.
"Yeah. David."
"The old president?"
"Exactly. But he won't be my spy—he'd get spotted too easy. He'll be yours."
"Mine? Wait—you've already got a plan, don't you?"
"Yup. Listen. Blackmail him: you'll cover his girlfriend's treatments for her health issues. In return, he feeds you intel on Section E."
"Okay. But… his girlfriend really does have problems."
"Yeah."
AFTER A FEW DAYS—NOT MANY
"Jay, I talked to him. He'll inform us, but he didn't spill anything on Section E yet."
"Maybe he needs time. Keep funding her treatments anyway."
"Okay."

Hey guys, I know it's short, but hang on. I'll post the big chapter as soon as possible. Don't expect it to be too big.
And one more thing. You guys might think she's not jogging as I didn't keep any of it. I'm just not getting any ideas about it. But she is jogging everyday. Keifer is not as he is busy with some work or something. And I don't know why I'm not getting, but I'll try.
