Chapter 97 - Self Discovery

THREE MONTHS LATER

Five minutes past six, the alarm pulled me awake - hard to believe since half a year back that same sound meant five extra rounds of delay before barely dragging myself up just in time.

Yet staying conscious felt necessary all of a sudden.

Fresh gear pulled over skin, then stepping outside into damp air. Over three miles usually stretched ahead - path leading toward water, doubling back before day warmed, light spilling across the bay while thoughts stayed sharp.

Just stop bringing up Daniel again. Instead of going over talks with Jayce, let it go. Forget asking yourself what might have been.

Feet hit the ground. Air fills the lungs. That is enough.
