"ROOOAR—!"
Atop the mountain peak, Suicune unleashed a thunderous cry.
The weaker Pokémon in the surrounding area were instantly forced back into their Poké Balls.
Roar.
In official battles, it forces a switch.
Here, it served as a battlefield reset—scattering lesser threats in one sweeping command.
Hunter J's lips curled coldly.
"Salamence. Hyper Beam."
"RAAAANG—!"
The crimson dragon spread its blood-red wings wide. Energy condensed in its jaws, gathering into a searing sphere.
A split second later—
A devastating beam tore across the battlefield.
Hyper Beam. Base power 150. Total annihilation.
Suicune did not retreat.
It opened its mouth and fired a spiraling, high-pressure Hydro Pump straight into the incoming beam.
The northern wind began to howl.
Its white ribbons fluttered like divine streamers.
The water pressure intensified—
"BOOM—!"
For a heartbeat, the two attacks clashed midair.
Then—
Hydro Pump was driven backward.
Even empowered by the northern wind—
Suicune could not overpower Salamence.
"Good," J said calmly. "Drapion, X-Scissor. Ariados, secure the perimeter."
Her petrification cannon hummed ominously in her hand.
Victory seemed certain.
Until—
A blinding flash erupted behind her.
"…What?!"
J spun.
From her own airship—
A massive laser beam fired.
And its target was—
Her.
"ARIADO—"
She didn't finish the sentence.
"BOOOOM—!"
The mountain shook.
Rocks shattered.
Dust swallowed the battlefield whole.
Hunter forces lost visibility.
Through the chaos—
A voice rang out.
"Suicune! Paige is safe! Go—now!"
Suicune abandoned the beam clash instantly.
It leapt sideways in a blur of sapphire and white.
Hyper Beam tore past where it stood moments ago, blasting a crater into the mountaintop.
Salamence, locked in post-attack recoil, couldn't move.
Suicune vanished into the forest in seconds.
When the dust cleared—
Hunter J crawled out of rubble, covered in dirt. Ariados, injured, was recalled instantly.
She adjusted her cracked sunglasses.
"After them."
Her voice was ice.
-----
North of the battlefield
A black silhouette cut through the sky at impossible speed.
Clouds parted before it like fabric torn by a blade.
It was a powerful Garchomp.
On its back sat a blonde woman in a long black coat, flipping through a magazine mid-flight.
"Should I go to Eterna City first… or look for that interesting boy…?" she muttered.
Then her eyes drifted to an ad.
"New ice cream shop grand opening…"
She swallowed subtly.
"Garchomp… vanilla or strawberry today?"
Garchomp: …
It hated ice cream.
Before it could sigh, an explosion echoed in the distance.
A faint voice carried on the wind.
"Suicune! They're targeting you!"
The blonde's eyes sharpened.
"Suicune? One of the Legendary Beasts?"
Her lips curved slightly.
"Alright then. Let's go there. Faster."
"Graaash."
Garchomp tilted midair—
—and disappeared in a sonic burst.
-----
Back in the forest
Peter sprinted in Ghost Step mode, body flickering with ethereal acceleration.
He hadn't run far.
If captured, he could still escape using his Summoner Skills.
But the mission required Suicune's safe escape.
Hunter J, however, had gone feral.
Oil spilled into streams.
Flames licked through forest brush.
Suicune hesitated—turning back to protect the land it purified.
And just like that—
The hunters surrounded both Suicune—
—and Peter.
Peter sighed.
"You Legendary types really are stubborn. Ever heard of strategic retreat?"
Suicune lowered its head slightly.
It knew.
It had dragged him into this.
Peter glanced at its elegant, crystalline form.
"…You really are beautiful," he muttered.
No wonder certain fandoms worshipped it.
Then—
Salamence descended.
Hunter J stared down at him.
"It's you."
"Yep. Surprise."
Seeing the crack in her visor, Peter almost laughed.
She began to raise her hand.
"Salamence—"
"WAIT!"
Peter held up his phone dramatically.
"Before you do anything… I should inform you that I installed a timed bomb in your airship."
He showed her the countdown.
00:57… 00:56…
"Oh—and I think your cargo hold is still full of merchandise, right? Shame if something happened to it."
J froze.
Her eyes flicked to Suicune—still guarding Peter.
Then back to the timer.
Her jaw tightened.
"Retreat."
The order was immediate.
The hunters withdrew.
The moment they were gone—
Peter exhaled.
"RUN. That was a bluff."
He hopped onto Suicune's back without hesitation.
And grabbed its twin ribbon tails like reins.
Suicune paused.
It was 90% sure this human just wanted to ride it.
But time was critical.
With a few bounding leaps—
They vanished into the forest.
-----
Back at the airship
J stormed inside.
"SLAP!"
The vice-captain woke up mid-dream.
"Good morning, Lady J—"
"Good morning my ass!"
Her hands flew left and right.
Within seconds, his face swelled into something resembling a Mamoswine.
There had been no bomb.
But Peter had blasted through the fuel tank—
—and used the laser cannon to damage the engine.
The ship was crippled.
With Officer Jenny's forces closing in—
Chase was impossible.
"Transfer the cargo. We withdraw."
Minutes later—
Convoy vehicles roared over the mountain ridge.
Hunter J disappeared into the distance.
…
Mission Complete
Peter lay comfortably across Suicune's back as it ran through moonlit forest.
System notifications chimed rapidly.

Peter grinned.
"Legendary Rider, huh…"
He stared at the sky.
"I wonder if there's an achievement for riding Rayquaza…"
He imagined the black Shiny Mega Rayquaza from the Hoenn crisis movie—
1 vs 6 Legendary brawl.
Dominance incarnate.
"If I ever capture a legendary…"
He smirked.
"It's going to be Rayquaza. No debate. Style matters."
The northern wind continued to blow.
And somewhere far away—A blonde Champion was drawing closer.
