"Mira?"
Peter paused, glancing at the Pokémon behind her.
Alakazam — Lv.44 (Elite – Mid Tier)
Everything immediately made sense.
No wonder the girl had seemed familiar.
She was one of the five partner trainers—Mira, the one who specialized in special attacks.
In the games, she was found inside a Wayward Cave and needed help escaping.
Judging from the current situation, though…
It seemed that in this world she still hadn't escaped the fate of getting lost.
Whitney tried explaining.
"This is the foot of Mount Coronet, and then… uh… honey, you explain the rest."
She scratched her head sheepishly.
At least she was self-aware about being terrible with directions.
Peter continued calmly.
"This is Route 207.
To the south is Oreburgh City, and to the north is Eterna City."
Mira froze instantly.
"Ah…"
=͟͟͞͞(꒪ᗜ꒪‧̥̇)
"Oh no oh no oh no! I was trying to teleport to school—how did I end up on the mountain side?!"
Peter's mouth twitched.
"Your school… wouldn't happen to be in Hearthome City, would it?"
"Exactly!" Mira wailed.
"This is a disaster! It's all Alakazam's fault! It teleported in the wrong direction!"
Alakazam scratched its head.
It strongly suspected its little trainer had intentionally pointed in the wrong direction to skip school.
Otherwise…
Why would she give teleport coordinates that were clearly backwards?
Peter smiled faintly.
He definitely didn't believe an Elite-level Alakazam would mess up something that simple.
He pretended to think for a moment.
"No worries. I'll call Officer Jenny and have a police plane pick you up. Guaranteed you'll make it to school on time."
"Ah… but… I haven't finished my homework yet…" Mira muttered while counting on her fingers.
"If I go to school like this the teacher will scold me…"
Peter's smile widened.
"That's easy too. I'll ask Officer Jenny to send an experienced pilot so you can peacefully finish drawing electromagnetic field force diagrams during the flight."
Mira: "…"
Peter sighed.
"If you ask me, you should just go back to school. Skipping class feels great for a moment… but after exams you'll end up working in a factory."
Mira pouted.
"Wait… how did you figure it out?!"
Whitney covered her mouth, giggling.
"Just turn around and look."
Behind Mira, Alakazam had used psychic power to create a floating image showing exactly how Mira had ordered it to teleport in the wrong direction as an accomplice to skipping school.
When Mira turned around—
Alakazam immediately dismissed the psychic projection and panicked.
"Zam! Zam zam!"
Mira clenched her fists.
"Oh you traitor, Alakazam!"
Chaos erupted instantly.
Peter shook his head with a smile.
"Alright, Mira. How about this—you give me your family's contact information. I'll explain to them that you're having a field lesson in the wild today."
Mira blinked.
"Wait… are you sure you can teach me? I study at Hearthome Elite Middle School. All our teachers are professors…"
Whitney puffed her nose proudly.
"Don't let his age fool you. Peter is a Pokémon Professor. Teaching a middle-schooler is more than easy."
"Really?!"
Mira nodded enthusiastically.
"Okay! If that's the case, I accept!"
Then she suddenly froze.
"Wait a second…, are you Peter?! The Peter?!"
"Of course."
Mira's eyes immediately lit up like searchlights.
She pulled out a camera and started taking rapid-fire photos.
Click—click—click—click!
Whitney blinked.
"Mira, are you a fan of Peter?"
"Oh… not really."
"Then why take so many photos?"
Mira grinned mischievously.
"There are tons of fangirls at my school. I can sell these photos for like a hundred Poké Dollars each."
Whitney: "…"
Peter: "…"
After a moment of speechless silence, Peter sighed.
"Well then, if there are no more problems, let's begin."
He tossed a Poké Ball.
A flash of light appeared.
Indeedee stepped onto the battlefield.
"We'll make this a practical lesson."
Mira stopped fiddling with her phone.
"Peter-san… Alakazam and I are really strong. That Pokémon of yours looks unfamiliar—and it doesn't seem very high level."
Peter smiled.
"Try it and find out. If you beat me, I'll cover for you. You can play all day today."
Mira's eyes sparkled.
"Really?! Okay! Alakazam, you're up! And if you hold back…"
She grinned wickedly.
"I'll cut your food supply for a month."
Alakazam:

…
Battle Begins
Soon the two sides found a clearing inside the cave of Mount Coronet.
Whitney stepped forward to referee.
"Battle between Peter of Goldenrod City and Mira of Hearthome City!
Single battle, one Pokémon each! Begin!"
Mira took the initiative immediately.
"Alakazam, strike first—Future Sight!"
"Zam!"
A vast wave of psychic power vanished into the void, waiting to strike at the perfect moment.
Future Sight — Psychic-type special move (Power 120).
The user predicts the opponent's movement and plants psychic power in the void to attack later.
Peter raised an eyebrow.
"So you're planning to use your level advantage to overwhelm us? Too bad…"
"You still haven't figured out your opponent."
He waved his hand.
"Indeedee—Imprison!"
"Dee…"
Standing within Psychic Terrain, Indeedee released a strange sealing aura.
Invisible psychic chains spread outward.
Alakazam immediately felt restrained.
Mira's face changed dramatically.
"Wait… it's also a Psychic-type Pokémon?!"
That meant the two Pokémon likely shared similar move pools.
Which also meant—
Many of Alakazam's usual moves were now sealed.
The worst part?
Mira had no idea which moves Indeedee actually knew.
If she ordered the wrong one…
Alakazam would waste its turn.
After thinking for a moment, she made a risky decision.
"Alakazam, use Psyshock!"
The spoons in Alakazam's hands spun rapidly.
Psychic power surged forward—
Then… suddenly vanished.
"Zam…?"
Alakazam froze in confusion.
Peter grinned mischievously.
"Indeedee knows that move too."
Then he gave his next command.
"Indeedee—Encore!"
Two giant energy hands appeared in the air, clapping rhythmically.
Alakazam immediately began repeating Psyshock again.
Of course…
Because of Imprison, the move couldn't actually activate.
So Alakazam simply stood there waving its spoons dramatically.
Muscles tensing and relaxing.
It looked exactly like someone struggling with constipation in the bathroom.
Mira panicked.
"Alakazam! Put some effort into it!"
Alakazam:
I'm trying really hard to Psyshock! Can't you see that?!
Peter continued calmly.
"Indeedee, next—Calm Mind."
"Dee~"
Indeedee closed its eyes.
Its Special Attack and Special Defense rose.
Right at that moment—
The delayed Future Sight attack triggered.
A massive beam of psychic energy erupted from the void and struck Indeedee.
BOOOOM!
Rocks shattered and dust filled the cave.
An Elite-level Future Sight was definitely powerful.
Mira wiped her nose confidently.
"Heh… looks like I still have a chance."
But—
When the dust cleared…
Indeedee stood there completely unharmed.
And glowing again.
Its Special Attack and Special Defense rose a second time.
It had calmly finished another Calm Mind while tanking Future Sight.
Mira stared in disbelief.
"WHAT?!"
o( ̄ヘ ̄o#)
"I object! You're cheating!"
