Chapter 25 - Guests Over

During break, Issei was brought to the Occult Research Club by Kiba. The blond knight walked beside him through the hallways with his usual polite smile, occasionally glancing at the nervous boy beside him.

Issei looked around as they walked, his mind still racing from everything that had happened the night before.

Soon they arrived at the old clubroom and Kiba opened the door, allowing him to step inside.

Where he was told everything—who and what Rias and her peerage were. Devils. Reincarnated servants bound together in a noble hierarchy.

Rias calmly explained the supernatural world that existed beyond normal human understanding while the others watched Issei's reaction.

He was in disbelief, but not too much, as what he saw yesterday was pretty evident. After witnessing a fallen angel trying to kill him with glowing spears twice, it was hard to deny something supernatural was going on.

Rias then told him what power he had and why Yuma—or rather Raynare—had tried to kill him. She explained his Sacred Gear and the danger it posed to the fallen angels.

After hearing that, he was a bit bummed out that a pretty girl like her had such horrible intentions. His shoulders slumped as he remembered how excited he had been when she asked him out.

If only he knew that there were girls out there capable of worse than killing him. Who weren't demons or fallen angels.

He then turned to Silas. The guy had been there yesterday and had casually stopped a fallen angel like it was nothing.

He was about to ask what he was, curiosity finally getting the better of him, but Rias spoke before he could open his mouth.

"Tonight you'll get to see what we do. We'll be going stray hunting," she said, crossing one leg over the other while leaning back in her chair.

After everything was said, break time continued as per usual. The only difference was that Issei was here now.

He sat awkwardly on the couch while watching the others interact, trying to process everything he had learned.

He watched Koneko, Rias, and Akeno pretty much surrounding Silas. Koneko sat quietly beside him while eating snacks, Rias leaned close while talking to him, and Akeno occasionally teased him with a playful smile.

Silas didn't even acknowledge the goddesses that surrounded him, simply leaning back comfortably like it was the most normal thing in the world.

Which made Issei even more envious of him.

But he had a bit of hope. Rias explained how things worked in a peerage, how devils could reincarnate servants who would one day grow stronger and even form their own peerage.

He now knew that he too could get servants.

That alone made his mood better.

'I can now become the Harem King!!' he thought as he smiled like a pervert.

Silas, on the other hand, was thinking about what was going to happen after this. And that was the Asia arc.

He leaned back on the couch while listening to the girls talk around him, his mind already moving ahead in the story.

'I used to think she was annoying back then. Now I honestly don't mind her as much after re-watching the show,' he thought to himself.

...

That night.

Rias and her peerage went to an abandoned observatory on the edge of town where the stray devil had been reported. The old structure sat on a hill overlooking the darker parts of Kuoh, its broken dome and rusted railings barely visible under the moonlight. It was the kind of place humans avoided at night, which made it perfect for supernatural business.

Unfortunately, Silas couldn't attend.

He had guests tonight.

That being Sona and Tsubaki.

Who decided to invite themselves after hearing that Rias and Akeno were here the day before. Apparently word traveled quickly between the two rival groups.

'When will this rivalry end?' he thought as he sat on the couch, leaning back comfortably with one arm resting across the top.

The apartment was quiet, lit by the soft glow of the lamps in the living room while the city lights flickered faintly outside the balcony window.

Suddenly he heard the doorbell.

Silas pushed himself off the couch and walked to the door, opening it without much hesitation.

Sona and her Queen, Tsubaki, stood there with small smiles on their faces. Tsubaki held a bag filled with soda and snacks while Sona stood beside her calmly, adjusting her glasses slightly.

"You're acting like this is your first time here," Silas said as he took the bag from them and let them in.

"We're just being good guests," Sona said as she stepped inside, glancing around the apartment briefly.

"Where we're from, it's disrespectful to come over to someone's house without a gift."

Tsubaki stepped in behind her and closed the door.

"In fact," she added casually, "it's punishable by death."

Silas snickered as he walked toward the kitchen with the bag.

"Man, you guys really are devils," he said.

Soon the three of them settled in the living room. Silas poured some of the snacks into a bowl, grabbed a few glasses, and placed everything neatly on the coffee table along with the sodas.

He dropped back onto the couch afterward.

Sona sat on one side while Tsubaki took the other.

Silas ended up sitting in the middle of them, stretching his arms behind the couch as he relaxed.

The atmosphere quickly became comfortable.

"So tell me," Silas said as he grabbed a soda and opened it. "How did you guys even become a peerage?"

He glanced between the two girls with genuine curiosity. "I'm interested in knowing."

『A/N: Yeah action is coming soon. I just don't like having a relationship develop out of nowhere. That's lazy writing in my Opinion』

Sona adjusted her glasses slightly as she leaned back against the couch, considering the question. Tsubaki quietly opened one of the soda cans and poured it into a glass before handing it to Sona first, a small habit that showed how long they had been working together.

"It wasn't sudden," Sona began calmly. "Unlike Rias, I didn't start my peerage immediately."

Silas raised an eyebrow slightly, listening.

"My sister wanted me to understand the system before using it," she continued. "Being a devil noble isn't just about power. A peerage is a responsibility. Every piece you reincarnate becomes someone who relies on you."

Tsubaki nodded beside her.

"So Sona-sama waited," she added. "Even after arriving in the human world."

Silas leaned back deeper into the couch.

"And then you recruited Tsubaki first?" he asked.

Tsubaki smiled faintly. "Yes. I was the first."

Sona glanced at her Queen for a moment before speaking again.

"Tsubaki was a shrine maiden from a long-standing exorcist family," she explained. "Her clan had connections to supernatural matters for generations. When I first met her, she was already capable of sensing devils and fallen angels."

Silas looked mildly impressed.

"Exorcist bloodline, huh?"

Tsubaki nodded. "My family served shrines that protected certain spiritual sites," she said. "But the world was changing. The old traditions weren't enough anymore."

She paused slightly. "When Sona-sama approached me… I chose to reincarnate."

Silas glanced at her. "You didn't hesitate?"

Tsubaki shook her head. "No." Her voice remained calm. "I believed in her."

Sona looked away slightly, though her expression softened.

"She says that now," Sona said quietly, "but at the time she demanded proof first."

Silas smirked.

"Oh?"

Tsubaki cleared her throat. "I simply wanted to confirm that Sona-sama was worthy of my loyalty."

"And how'd she prove it?" Silas asked.

Sona pushed her glasses up slightly. "We fought."

Silas chuckled."Of course you did."

Tsubaki nodded."Sona-sama defeated me in less than two minutes."

Silas laughed softly. "Damn. That's cold."

"It was efficient," Sona corrected.

They sat quietly for a moment as Silas grabbed some snacks from the bowl.

"After Tsubaki joined," Sona continued, "I slowly built the rest of my peerage."

Silas nodded. "Tomoe, Momo, Ruruko, Reya… and more"

Both girls looked at him. Sona's eyes narrowed slightly.

"You seem very familiar with my peerage."

Silas shrugged casually."I pay attention. Most of the time that is"

Tsubaki smiled slightly.

"Tomoe and Momo were recruited first after me," she explained. "Both were human girls with strong spiritual sensitivity."

Sona nodded.

"Tomoe Meguri was from a shrine family as well. Momo Yaegaki came from a family with strong spiritual lineage. Both were natural fits."

Silas took another sip of his drink.

"And the Bishops?"

"Ruruko Nimura and Reya Kusaka," Sona said. "Both talented magicians."

Silas nodded slowly.

"Balanced team."

"That was the goal," Sona replied.

Silas leaned back again. "Still," he said, glancing at her, "you built a pretty impressive peerage."

Sona looked at him curiously."Impressive?"

"Yeah," Silas replied.

He gestured slightly toward her. "Your team is disciplined. Organized. Everyone knows their role."

He smirked slightly. "Rias' group feels more like chaos. Especially with the new pawn. I hope they don't rely on him too much."

Tsubaki chuckled softly. Sona allowed herself a small smile. "Yes let's hope."

After a few seconds of silence. He got up" Alright, let's play a game. Seeing as we have sometime to ourselves. What do you girls think?" He asked.

They glanced at each other, then looked at Silas.

" Sure,"
