"It's a blessing, honestly," Zhang Chulan remarked, leaning back with a sigh of relief. "Our world might have its share of weirdness, but at least we aren't looking at cosmic erasure. Sometimes, being a 'weaker' world is a luxury. We don't have to worry about the entire universe being blinked out of existence."
Tien Shinhan looked at him with a grim, seasoned expression. "For us, a 'world-ending crisis' usually just means Earth might be conquered or ruled by a tyrant. Compared to the total annihilation of every soul in the universe, being ruled seems like a minor inconvenience."
"I just hope Son Goku and the others can pull this off," Duanmu Yan added, his voice barely a whisper.
Across the Myriad Worlds, a massive wave of support surged for Universe 7. The viewers had spent so much time watching Goku's journey that they felt a deep, personal connection to the team. They saw themselves in these warriors—after all, most of the audience lived on their own versions of Earth. If they were dropped into the Dragon Ball Multiverse, they would be citizens of Universe 7 too.
But despite the cheering, a heavy shadow of doubt lingered. While Akira had hinted at a legendary new transformation called Ultra Instinct, the veterans of these broadcasts knew that a new form didn't always guarantee a win. They remembered the sting of Super Saiyan 3 failing to put down Majin Buu, and the humbling moment when the Super Saiyan God form couldn't overcome Lord Beerus. In the world of the Saiyans, breaking your limits was only half the battle; the other half was surviving the monsters who had already broken theirs.
In the video, the atmosphere was electric. The fighters took their places on the massive Kachi Katchin ring, while the Gods, Angels, and Supreme Kais ascended to the floating spectator stands. The Grand Priest's voice rang out, cold and clear, reiterating the divine decrees: No killing. No weapons or items. To win, you must knock your opponent completely off the arena.
Then came the most restrictive rule: Bukujutsu (Flight) was disabled. Unless a contestant possessed natural wings, the ability to fly using Ki was neutralized by the void's unique gravity. For Goku and the others who relied on energy to soar, they were now grounded. This was a massive blow to most, though warriors with biological wings now held a terrifying aerial advantage.
In Universe 6, Hit watched the screen, his jaw tightening. As the multiverse's deadliest assassin, his entire combat style was built around lethal strikes to vital points. The "No Killing" rule didn't just hinder him—it stripped away 30% of his combat effectiveness. He was a predator forced to hunt without teeth. Even as the strongest in his universe, he felt a flicker of uncertainty. If he couldn't kill, could he truly stop the monsters from Universe 11?
"Begin!" the Grand Priest commanded.
With that single word, the most violent forty-eight minutes in history commenced. The arena exploded into a kaleidoscope of Ki blasts and sonic booms. Interestingly, Universe 7 wasn't immediately dogpiled. Most universes followed the principle of proximity, engaging whoever was closest in a desperate bid to thin the herd.
Gohan, acting as the tactical captain, tried to keep his team disciplined. "Stay together!" he shouted. He knew the politics of the ring; the other universes blamed his father, Son Goku, for the tournament's existence. In their eyes, if Goku hadn't suggested this to Zeno-sama, they would be living in blissful ignorance rather than fighting for their lives. To the rest of the multiverse, Universe 7 was the villain.
But the Saiyan blood was too restless for formation fighting. Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, and the Androids ignored Gohan's pleas and vanished into the fray, seeking out individual challenges. Gohan and the remaining members could only sigh—they knew the stubborn pride of their heavy hitters all too well.
The gamble of splitting up quickly drew blood. The warriors of Universe 9, fueled by a bitter grudge from the Zen Exhibition Match, swarmed the scattered Universe 7 fighters. They aimed to make an example of Goku's team, but they had tragically underestimated the gap in power.
The battle narrowed down to the Trio de Dangers—the three wolf brothers—teaming up against Goku and Vegeta. Their coordinated "Triangle Danger Beam" caused a momentary flicker of trouble, but it was the last gasp of a dying universe.
"Let's end this, Vegeta!" Goku yelled.
Both Saiyans erupted into the divine glow of Super Saiyan Blue. The sheer pressure of their Ki cracked the arena floor. With a synchronized Kamehameha and Final Flash, they unleashed a tidal wave of blue energy that engulfed the wolf brothers, blasting them clean off the stage.
Silence fell over the World of Void. Universe 9 was the first to have all ten members eliminated.
The two Zenos looked at each other with innocent, terrifying smiles. They raised their hands, and a dazzling light filled the void. In an instant, the contestants, the Supreme Kai, and the God of Destruction from Universe 9 vanished. Only their Angel remained, standing alone in the stands. Universe 9 had been erased from existence.
Across the Heavens and Myriad Worlds, countless viewers sat in stunned, horrified silence. The reality of the stakes had finally hit home. This wasn't a game. It was a massacre of cosmic proportions.
