The building had returned to its usual quiet by the time Lucian entered the room.
Arden Vale was already there, standing beside the long table with several documents spread in front of him. He glanced up the moment the door opened and immediately straightened when he saw Lucian step inside.
"You found him," Arden said.
Lucian removed his coat slowly before answering. "Yes."
Arden studied him for a moment. The answer itself was expected. The tone, however, told him something else had shifted.
"And Julian?" Arden asked.
"He's recovering."
Arden nodded slightly. "Victoria confirmed he's awake."
Lucian moved toward the table and glanced briefly at the reports Arden had been reviewing. None of them appeared to interest him for long.
"The last of the hunters have been identified," Arden continued. "They were not operating independently."
Lucian looked at him. "Explain."
