"I'll be your teacher for the rest of your first year and you shall address me as Teacher May." Her red pupils swept across the faces of the students as she introduced herself.
"Today, our discussion will be on Dungeon studies. Bring out your textbook and turn to the first page." Teacher May instructed the students.
Everyone listened, taking out their textbooks and opening them on their desks. Ivan glanced at the words on the first page.
INTRODUCTION TO DUNGEONS.
Seeing that the students had taken out their textbooks, teacher May opened her mouth and spoke.
"Before we continue, I want you all to introduce yourselves. State your name and the class you awakened, starting from you." She pointed at a student sitting in front.
The student was slightly stunned that she was picked first but quickly stood up as instructed.
"Anabel Carlos, I awakened as an Archer." The girl reported.
"Good, next." Teacher May nodded and then pointed at the student sitting behind Anabel.
"Marcos Uriaz, Spear Knight class!" The boy stood up and announced happily.
It wasn't surprising for him to be happy. After all, many believed that the spear was the king of all weapons.
"Mm, next." Teacher May nodded before pointing at the next student. Marcos proudly sat down while the student behind him stood up to introduce himself.
For the following seconds, the students stood up one after another and introduced themselves, stating their names and abilities they had awakened.
Watching this, Ivan quickly noticed a pattern. Everyone who had introduced themselves had awakened a weapon class, he wasn't sure yet and decided to see it to the end.
Soon, it was his turn. Ivan calmly stood up and said.
"Ivan Castellan, Paladin class."
Immediately he said this, the whole class went silent as everyone looked at him in shock. Even teacher May was surprised.
She hadn't been around during the awakening and had only recently returned from a dungeon raid so she didn't know about Ivan's awakening.
"Did you say the Castellan family, isn't that a family of mages?" Teacher May asked, curious if Ivan was talking about the same Castellan family that everyone knew.
The students also looked at Ivan. Everyone present knew about the Castellan family, after all, it was a first-rate noble family of mages with the reputable Christopher Castellan as the head.
"Yes, it's the same Castellan family," Ivan said, not a bit bothered by the many stares.
"Mm, you can sit. Next," teacher May didn't allow her shock to affect her for too long, she asked Ivan to sit while moving to the next student.
Across the classroom, the boy who had bumped into Ivan the previous days was shaken with fright after listening to Ivan's introduction.
His family was only a third-rate noble family. If they found out that he offended someone from the Castellan family, he might even be banished!
'He wouldn't report me to his father, right?' the boy asked in his thoughts, horrified by what his fate would be if Ivan held a grudge against him.
Unknowingly, it was already his turn to introduce himself and teacher May had already called out to him twice. But he didn't hear due to his inner thoughts.
The next moment.
Crash!!
A powerful pressure crashed into him, startling him so much that he screamed like a little girl and fell from his seat.
His eyes widened as he found it difficult to breathe and his body was incredibly heavy.
'A-a level four warrior?!' He thought to himself in horror.
He wasn't the only one, Ivan and the rest of the students could sense it even though they weren't the target. They were all equally surprised that a level 4 warrior was assigned to teach first-year students.
"What's the meaning of this, it's just the first day and I already have a brat?" Teacher May asked in a cold, frightening tone. Her gaze was as sharp as a blade as she stared at the student who was being pressed down by her aura.
"S-sorry, I-i didn't mean…" the student tried to speak but it was too difficult under the pressure of a monster at the level 4 warrior rank.
After staring at the kid for a few seconds, teacher May released the pressure. The boy was finally able to breathe and immediately started gasping for air.
"Get up and introduce yourself," teacher May's cold voice rang out, not giving the boy any chance to catch his breath.
Frightened, the boy hastily stood up.
"Carter Norman, Twin Blade class!" He said, almost screaming.
"The Norman family is only a third-rated noble family and you dare to be disrespectful on the first day, leave my class. I don't want to see your face for the rest of the day." Teacher May said disdainfully.
Carter's eyes trembled but he didn't dare to say anything. He picked up his textbook and left shamefully under the gaze of his classmates.
Meanwhile, Ivan was busy with his own thoughts.
'As I thought, everyone here had awakened a weapon class. This must have been the academy's arrangement, then the teacher is probably a weapon user as well.'
After Carter left, teacher May turned to face the rest of the students.
"Now that we all know each other, let's begin." She said and started her class.
"A dungeon as you all might already know, is a space that beasts live in. Dungeons can also be considered a small world filled with different kinds of creatures and traps that are extremely dangerous.
They connect to our world through a special pathway known as the dimensional rift, also known as dungeon gates.
But first, do you know where these small worlds are located but connected to our planet?" Teacher May stopped at a question.
The students shook their heads. Ivan knew the answer but decided not to say and listened to the teacher instead.
Seeing their cluelessness, teacher May continued.
"Our planet, Earth, exists in a special space known as the Realm. This realm has two layers. The first one is filled with hundreds of worlds that are unsuitable for humans to live in, with natural disasters appearing every second.
Lightning striking down randomly, the earth collapsing, and flames bursting out without warning.
The first level is incredibly dangerous and nobody can survive there for long, not even those at the level 5 warriors rank." Teacher May paused and observed the expression of the students. Seeing their amazed looks, she was satisfied.
But a slight frown formed on her face when she saw Ivan's face, he looked indifferent to what she was saying.
Nevertheless, she continued.
"The second level consists of thousands of habitable worlds, this is also where our planet is located. Aside from our planet, there are thousands of other worlds of various sizes that are filled with creatures that possess strength beyond our imaginations.
These worlds would then randomly connect to our world through the dimensional rift, becoming dungeons that won't disappear until all the creatures inside them are killed.
In other cases, these creatures will come out and attack anything in sight. This is when a dungeon break occurs." Teacher May explained.
In the corner, Ivan sighed silently.
'Well, that's how much humanity knows about the Realm and its levels.' he thought to himself.
